Maybe even SEA-CPH on SAS ?
I have a general question about YVR-Europe also. * Get a connection in the US, say at ORD or JFK or some other commonly used airport
* Get a connection in YYZ
* Get a connection in Europe (say at LHR or FRA or CDG)?

Yeah if you want to be safe, I'd fly AC cuz they have pretty good legroom, and service in Y is generally crappy service anyways, SAS is an inconvenience cuz it's out of SEA, plus AC YVR-LHR has more flight options, depending on what time of year your flying.
Let's assume I'm flying in Y (I've got a fistfull of upgrade coupons but my company won't spring for upgradeable fares) and all my connecting flights in Europe would be about the same from all 3 cities.
I'm really wondering about the long-haul service on the 3 different airlines. On a short European connecting flight the difference wouldn't bother me that much...
Only if the flight is oversold.
There's more legroom on AC than on LH. That matters to me more than anything else.
Don't know about SAS -- I've never flown on their planes.

Obviously the 3rd option. If you are going YVR-Europe, why on earth would you want to add several hours to your travel time by going through YYZ (ick!), ORD or JFK.
The flying time YVR-Europe is not much longer than the flying time from the eastern airports to Europe. Being in YEG, I would rather go YEG-YVR-LHR than YEG-YYZ-LHR, luckily there is a YYC-LHR flight, which is even better. It dumbfounds me when people tell me they are going to Europe and they are transiting YYZ from YEG. Same idea for YVR, except there are non-stops to Europe.
I read somewhere that they sometimes extend this courtesy to *G, especially on the US-Europe segments.
Depends where in Europe you are going, and what class you are flying.
If you are going to central/eastern Europe FRA is a no-brainer because of better connections.
LHR is a bit of a hassle since you'll have to switch terminals, which you won't really have to do in FRA.
Since you'll be in Y, I'd avoid LH. YVR-FRA is a 747 (or was) and they have those awful 'ergonomic' (= thin) seats allowing them to use knee-crushing pitch. I did it once, never again.

One thing about SAS though is that on their new A340`s they have an E+ section, which is available to *G, so that might be worth it for the extra leg room.
Are you sure you don't confuse this with UA? Economy Extra is a seperate cabin on SK with a 2-3-2 layout instead of 2-4-2 and 94cm pitch instead of 81cm. I think you either have to be SK EBG and the flight must be overbooked or you have to pay some kind of Y fare.
You're definitely right about the time issue, of course. My other concerns would be customs/security issues and the ease of transferring to a different plane.

FRA also has showers in the *G lounge.

If you have a connection in CPH, you have to clear customs to get to the lounge. No big deal as it's quick and painless. There are also customs formalities prior to departure as well.
CPH has showers in the *GOLD lounge!

to get extra Q miles .... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif There is quite a difference between YVR-LHR and YVR-YYZ-LHR
Also as Elite, I use to be able to upgrade my YVR-YYZ segment (on H class fare)
LHR has showers in the AC arrivals lounge too..
How much does getting a small tattoo on your hip/stomach hurt?
Do anyone else have an itchy anus? ?
