| | So the new Kitty loves food anytime from anywhere. I read up on what not to give cats like onions and garlic and chocolate et la. I do on occasion give her little pieces of meat and fish. Sometimes gravy and her favorite is cottage cheese. Is this alright on occasion or should I just stop all together?
We all know that it is not good to feed our pets table scraps, but the weak will always fold under the pressure of those pleading little eyes LOL.. from what I have read, it is also not good to feed anything with spices to cats or dogs.. but I think on occasion to give tidbits of meat or fish is okay..my cat loves cold cuts and I will give him a piece the size of a quarter and he seems to be content with that and moves on to his next adventure.. I really don't overdue it.. and luckily he is not a begger when we are eating our meals..
The majority here will say stop all together, but I feel to give a little treat now and then will do no harm.. (the tell tale sign will be the cat box, if you know what I mean, then you know not to give what you have given)
i alwalys give my cat tuna and other fish
she doesnt get sick soo,
:D
any fish other than that none.
Welcome to Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta:: Thanks to each and every one of you for your kind words, prayers, and support. Our daughter learned to feed Gus table scraps before she learned to feed herself. http://www.grra.com/Memorials/CurrentMemorials.htmlHOME | Scamp Taming:: waits until I hold the cup and tell him OK before drinking. dog food, table scraps, etc. - dont seem to elicit this kind of defensiveness from him. http://www.sl-prokeys.com/scamp/scamptame.htmHOME | It is ok on occasion, but you may wind up with a problem. People who feed their dogs from the table usually have the problem of the dogs coming up to and trying to jump on the table when the family is eating.. cats do this just as often when presented the opportunity. Meat, fish, and a little bit of gravy is ok (as long as there is no onion or garlic powder in it!) but definitely not cottage cheese. Cats don't tolerate dairy well and can get diarrhea. I'd stop with the cottage cheese and only give the other stuff on occasion, but not from the table. Maybe when you are cleaning up, instead.
Recreating a home:: Our windows are the long, tall kind and frankly I slept soundly for the rest of little body but her dish, food and kitty litter box are only set aside where we http://www.whereinsamhill.com/HOME | Free Funny Jokes - Cat Rulebook:: f) Table scraps are delicacies with which the humans are unfortunately unwilling If you are an outdoor kitty, trees are good. http://www.simplejokes.com/joke.php?jokeID=277HOME | table scraps is defined as anything you will not eat and will go in the garbage..no table scraps are good for any pet.
however perhaps you are asking about leftovers or extra people food
well of course gravy is very bad for them (even the gravy in some canned foods is bad for them) too high in carbs.
fish is bad - high in calcium which contributes to urinary tract issues, Tuna is bad because of the mercury content.
cottage cheese is a dairy product so is also bad...
the ONLY good people food cats can have: bits of chicken or cooked egg.. perferably free range eggs because lets face it chickens have horrid lives - why make it worse... plus free range eggs have been proven to be healtheir for people so woudl also be better for cats.
That's fine. Everything in moderation.
none- feed only cat food or treats.
Cats are not as sensitive as people pretend.....you can give her fish meat cheese rise and vegetables if she will take it i mean thats all the types of stuff in normal cat food. she would be eating the same thing in the wild or on the street. Store bought catfood has just been loaded with vitamins that she needs so alternating between the people food and cat food is a good idea even mixing the food together is good.....Think about it would you be happy eating bologna every time you got hungry!>!>! Giving her a little bit of milk is good on occasion too.....I had five cats and my neighbor had 13, so trust me i am not talking nonsense. Figure out what agrees with her stomach and its ok. : )
