Is it good to speed up your metabolism? What are the best ways to increase your metabolism? Is there anything you can eat or take that increases metabolism? What are the best type of meals you think I should eat to help me with my Metabolism? What are the dangers of Metabolism? I am 18 years old, should I worry about Metabolism? Please help me, I could really use some education advice on this particular subject. I don't really don't know how Metabolism works and how I can keep it steady/normal. Thanks ;-)
Actually having a good metabolism is up to your genes...then you can ecxersise a lot to speed it up and eat a lot of vegetables fruits etc....
Metabolism means how quicly your organism burns the calories...If you have quick metabolism menas you don't gain weight easy and vise versa...
Metabolism is the set of chemical reactions that occur in living organisms in order to maintain life. These processes allow organisms to grow and reproduce, maintain their structures, and respond to their environments. Metabolism is usually divided into two categories. Catabolism breaks down organic matter, for example to harvest energy in cellular respiration. Anabolism, on the other hand, uses energy to construct components of cells such as proteins and nucleic acids. Metabolism literally means transformation. http://www.epigee.org/fitness/metabolism.htmlHOME |
The chemical reactions of metabolism are organized into metabolic pathways, in which one chemical is transformed into another by a sequence of enzymes. Enzymes are crucial to metabolism because they allow organisms to drive desirable but thermodynamically unfavorable reactions by coupling them to favorable ones. Enzymes also allow the regulation of metabolic pathways in response to changes in the cell's environment or signals from other cells.
The metabolism of an organism determines which substances it will find nutritious and which it will find poisonous. For example, some prokaryotes use hydrogen sulfide as a nutrient, yet this gas is poisonous to animals.[1] The speed of metabolism, the metabolic rate, also influences how much food an organism will require. A striking feature of metabolism is the similarity of the basic metabolic pathways between even vastly different species. For example, the set of carboxylic acids that are best known as the intermediates in the citric acid cycle are present in all organisms, being found in species as diverse as the unicellular bacteria Escherichia coli and huge multicellular organisms like elephants.[2] These striking similarities in metabolism are most likely the result of the high efficiency of these pathways, and of their early appearance in evolutionary history.[3][4]
It is the speed where ur food are being digested. If we eat more, our metabolism increase. Don eat alot & suddenly eat very little, then our metabolism would not be stable. Metabolism needs months to adjust, depends on individuals. Dangers probably u exercise alot & u nvr eat much, which causes u to drain off ur body fats & muscles that leds to malnutrition too. exercise will increase the rate too.
Be active and eat normally don't ever starve yourself unless you get stranded on an island and there's nothing to eat (kinda like the lost series but yea.) I know this by experience, I became very lazy i use to be active like a child with A.d.d but i didn't have a.d.d still don't I'm also 18, My metabolism is slow, meaning my food doesn't digest as fast as it should, and it turns into excess fat which causes weight gain. so if you're a normal weight at the Moment, you're not obese or underweight, i'd say stay on what you are doing, you'll be healthy as long as there isn't any like family generation problems.
"Metabolism is the amount of energy your body burns to maintain itself. People who are more muscular (and have a lower percentage of body fat) are said to have a higher metabolism than others that are less muscular."
What is Metabolism and how does it effect my life?
Why do I get stressed out with the thought of it?
