It is very likely that it is not serious. However, there is a rare kind of cancer called retinoblastoma that can cause a strange reflection in photographs when a flash is used. There is a video you can watch at this website about it. Definitely make an appointment with the doctor but try not to worry until you know more.

Usually when the eye reflects white instead of red, it indicates a tumor in the eye.
it can be nothing but u need to get them cecked for retinoblastoma.. a tumor in the back of the eye
If it isn't simple red eye from the camera flash, it may be a cataract.
