I have an obsession with Ravens. I'm really drawn to them and they have so much symbolism. And I think this painting by Bateman is beautiful.
I was thinking that if I ever meet the woman of my dreams I could make a continuation of the tattoo and have a white raven perched next to the black one.

Man this would be a great back piece. The tree a little off center and the branch going across between top and mid of back with the Raven on there. Some artist who are great a portraits is who I would seek out to do this. They have an uncanny sense to make it look almost like the exact painting, if this is what you are going for. I would talk to your artist or artist you choose and make a couple of adjustments in shading and such to put a bit of your personality in the ink...that way it will be more in tune to you and a little bit more inspired instead of a direct copy.

Its nice, but don't place it based on what you hope someone else will do. I had a boyfriend who wanted me to get his tribe's tatoo on me if we ever got married and while I was willing too because it was so important to him, I was a bit put off that he wanted me to do it. If I were you, I wouldn't even suggest it to her.
i really like the idea and picture, and if done by a good artist it will look amazing.
i definitely think having it on your back would be better because there is more room to have detail and get the full effect.

I like it a lot. It's clean, simple, and has good detail. I think it would look great on your back so the Raven is on your shoulder blade.
