Personally, I think Sleeping Beauty has the best animation. Its visual style is very different from other Disney movies because the animation went for a stylistic look rather than the rounded look of of earlier Disney movies. It also contains more detailed and complex artwork than ever used in an animated movie before. I agree, sleeping beauty has the best animation! AnimatedBliss.com - Disney: 15 Years of 2D Animation:: Just curious, do you clump the Pixar films into the same group as the rest of Disney? I think Disney has gone downhill each step at a time. http://www.animatedbliss.com/news.asp?TID=595HOME |
Fantasia hands down was the best. It combined so many elements, not just the actual animation, but the themes, and the music. It was fantastic. There was such a diverse collection of animations styles and themes, that it was truly a fantastic collection. I could watch it a million times. To me, it was amazing how someone could use creative genius in such a manner - to combine classical music to the animation techniques - and have the animation express the music so perfectly - it was great. Finding Nemo
Personally I did NOT like the animation of "Sleeping Beauty," but I do admire Disney for using the styles and techniques in 1959 that the whole world would be using by the mid 70s. All of the TV cartoons of the 70s (Road Runner, Bugs, Dudley Do-right, et al) were made using Disney's techniques.
I much more enjoyed the animation from "Beauty and the Beast" and "Dinosaur."
Of course, as long as Disney was/is associated with Pixar, then those films will have the best animation, at least so far, n'est pas?
