Thanks to the OP. I just booked this the other way, AVL-SBA-AVL, on July 3-5 for me and the wife. Total was $213.80 per ticket. The only routing I could find at this point was via CLT and SFO with the transcon on US. Looks like it's easier to find V class availability both ways in the summer if you can stay for 4+ days, but we couldn't take the time. There were a couple of next-day turns available. I'm seeing it on farecompare.com, but not able to book it anywhere. :mad: United.sux shows $850 for the dates I tried, nothing low on orbitz, travelocity, etc. Too bad, this one is pretty good, considering the dearth of good transcon UA fares lately. Would be $206 on this fare, around $.04/EQM if the routing is SBA-DEN-CLT-AVL (last seg on US)

Any US is too much US, but I'd do it if only that last seg. was US.
Jeez. You all talk as if USAir is some sort of sheer torture in the air. While nobody's going to mistake it for the world's greatest product in either Y or F, neither is it a flying Abu Ghraib. Grab an exit row on the A321 and relax. :)

1, Use ITA "Month-long search" without specifying routing, then modify it if you want
2, Replicate the one ITA found on united.com (or wherever)
Remember, the fare is valid end of schedule. The SNA-SRQ fare ($174+, VR14NX) is also worth considering as I mentioned above. It all depends on which airport is more convenient for you.
