after reading thru that, it seems that on other a/c that they're economy is quite cramped, it says that they normally configure the 340's 3-4-3 and that this will be 2-4-2, that's what it is on most airlines.

This new aircraft will be quite a change for EK. I have flown both J and F on EK (never flown Y). Looking at the spectacular plans for the 345, it looks like they are taking the current F and moving it back to J. They are certainly going to redefine F class with their new service, but I am sure it will come with a hefty ticket price!
