Chernobyl was a beautiful, modern, Russian city built by the Russian government for the express purpose of housing all workers and their families who worked on and in the nuclear power plant. There was a total 'melt-down' (I forgot the year, but you can find the year in any up-to date almanac or encyclopedia). The result of the horrific accident was: many who worked and lived died of radiation exposure: many people became sick forever: those who did survive suffered family losses. As of today, the power plant is contained and every so often the government has to re-pour move cement-like material over the entire plant to contain the radiation. Chernobyl was the site of a nuclear power plant which had the worst accident on record. The area had to be evacuated and people who were exposed are still being diagnosed with cancer and other potentially related diseases.

I'm always so surprised when people have never heard of the Chernobyl Disaster.
To cut a long story short, a reactor at the nuclear power plant in Chernobyl exploded in 1986 causing a major disaster. It was the worst accident that has happened to a nuclear power plant to this day.
But considering you need to know this for a major test, I suggest you google it asap.
