I have a scar which has been cut three times and i now have the go ahead to have my tattoo redone from my doctor. I broke my ankle and have now had all the pins and plates removed. So am ready but i want to if it will hurt more this time - it really hurt last time.

It might hurt a little more because the scar tissue will be more sensitive than it was pre-scar tissue.

I've been told by my dad (who had a LOT of tattoos) that scar tissue may cause it to hurt more. Also, you'll most likely have to go in every few years to have it redone, because the scar tissue doesn't hold the ink as well. Have you thought about having the tat removed and put it on your other (non-scarred) ankle? Might save ya money and pain in the long run.
 What would hurt the least-if i got a tattoo on the inside of my ankle or the outside of it?
