First, I am 17 and waiting until im 18 to get one. I have a couple ideas, which ones do you think is better. my frist one was, a heart on my left wrist, or a celtic looking heart with the word home in the middle on my left palm. They both means something to me. Also, if i were to get it 5 inches by 4 inches, how much ould it cost? Or 3 inches by 2 inches. How much would they hurt. And how old do you have to be to get a tattoo?
Thank you for your time.
I have four tattoos. First and foremost, make sure you do your research to find a good and clean tattoo shop. Also, placement of your tattoo is important. My wife had a tattoo on her finger, but because the tattoo was so small and it was tattooed in a small area it faded real quickly and she had to get it removed. So be careful of that as well. If you are goiong to get a tattoo, I would recommend getting the Celtic heart, but I love Celtic things so I'm kinda biased. As far as placement, I would get it on your wrist or on your shoulder blade instead of your palm because of the example above. I would also get it a little larger than just 3 inches. Anytime you get a tattoo near a bone, it's going to hurt more than on your muscle. As far as price goes a decent tattoo artist may charge anywhere from $75-$150 depending on the size. And you have to be 18 to get a tattoo in most states here in the country. I would recommend bringing in a picture of the heart you want and have the artist draw it out from there so he knows exactly what kind of style you like. The more specific you can be, the better tattoo you'll get. Hope this helps. Iron Factory:: tattoo machines ,iron custom tattoo machines with any questions. Welcome. Black and Grey Tatto. ??????????????????????????????????????
first of all you have to be 18. then i would seriously think about it before you get one. i have 8 of them and let me tell ya if i could take them all off i would. i am 25 and i got my first when i was 16 (i knew the guy). i have one on my forearm and because of that i have to wear long sleeves all the time under my scrubs at work (i'm a nurse). also i am not married and when i do get married i won't feel feminine in my dress because i have all these tattoos. it is REALLY hard to just get one they are really addictive. don't get one that you can't cover up! it can cost you a job in the future. good luck and i say, don't get one at all! i would give anything to have my pure beautiful skin back. also you need to make sure that if you get one that the meaning is really significant to you. i mean it WILL be with you forever.
Whatever you choose to do, don't put a tattoo on your palm. Seriously, they don't stay. They need constant touch ups and often look terrible no matter how much they're touched up. The skin just reproduces the skin too quickly on hands and feet... and the more friction they get while healing, the less they stay. Palms especially. There is no escaping using your hands for three to four weeks... and tattoos on the hands and feet, even on the backs, takes longer to heal than your average tattoo. Tattoos are a very personal decision. No one else can make that decision for you. It's your body.
As for cost... that's going to vary from artist to artist and from studio to studio all over the world. The only one who can give you an estimate would be the artist doing the work. Don't shop by price. This is not a pair of shoes that you'll wear for 6 months and throw out. This is for life. You get what you pay for. Shop by portfolio and quality of work.
Pain is relative to the individual. Some people feel it more on bone, others on muscle, still others say fatty areas hurt the most. What does it feel like? It'd probably be easier to describe what an apple tastes like to someone who's never tasted one. Bottom line- it feels like a tattoo. If it was that painful, no one would ever get them. If you really want it and it means that much to you, you'll sit through anything to get it. ;)
18 without parental consent in any state. Even in states where getting tattooed with parental permission is possible by law... some shops still won't tattoo you. Depends on their own personal codes.
go for the Cektic heart, its more unique, everyone's getting love hearts and stars nowadays. Depending on where you get it done it can vary in price. But its better to spend a bit extra on it so that its good quality :)
tattoos should be of something you love so much you couldn't live without it being on you.
it should not be just a reason to get a tattoo.
Im pretty sure u have to be 18 to have a tattoo, they dont hurt that much from what ive heard all u have to do is make sure ur picking the right one so u dont regret later on.
First off, the price is going to vary by shop. Some charge by the hour, some do a base price depending on detail etc.
Many shops have a minimum IE they charge a minimum of $150 no matter how small it is.
Yes they hurt.
You have to be 18 to get a tattoo.
If you can get someone to lightly draw on an approximation of each design (use felt tip markers) on each spot you want them, then you will have a much better idea of what to expect from the real deal.
Pain is only relative. Just be careful on the first tattoo you choose. Make sure you won't regret it later.
Maybe consider having on a part of your body easily concealed. You and many others may not havea problem with it, but you really never know who might, and you may need them to take you seriously, and that could effect things you can't see right now.
Besides, a tat is yours, you don't have to advertise it right?
I got several tats when I was 17. I am now 33. I regret it. You might want to at the very elast put them somewhere you can easily hide them.
dont get anything on your hand. if anything a wrist, ankle or foot if you were to get a heart tattoo. go with the 3x2 size. it'll hurt a little, like a piercing. why are you scared about something you want? maybe you shouldnt get it
Before you are ready to get a tattoo, you need to learn how to speak and write in proper English. Sheesh. I'm, like, 3 years younger than you and I am better at grammar than you. Personally, I like the heart on your left wrist. :)
I love celtic tatoos.I get my first tatoo when I was 16.I didn't pay anything because the tatoo artist is my friend.
I think the heart a 3 by 2 would be really REALLY cool. It would cost from a range of like maybe $30 - $40 I'm not sure. Also you have to be 18 or have a parent sign a paper allowing you to get one. Last question about the pain, nobody can really tell you how bad it hurts. Some people think shots hurt some don't. They can tell you what it feels like, but not if it hurts that badly.
Send pics!
I don't really know about prices, but the rule of thumb is that the bonier the area is where you get your tattoo, the more it will hurt.
In the UK you have to be 18 to get a tattoo.
Can I just ask why you have to have the tattoo in such a prominant place??
I have tattoos but they are in places that can be covered up easily (.....and believe me, when I get wrinkly I want them covered..nothing looks worse.)
By all means have one but think carefully about where...I imagine the hand /wrist on a lady is not a good look.
