So, what IS the stereotypical way of acting white? Or does it just mean not acting the way your race stereotypically would? I'm confused on what it is to be white-washed.
Stereotypical way of acting white according to (many) non-whites:
-Have white friends or a white significant other (+50 pts)
-Speak English the way you learned it (+40 pts)
-Listen to rock or classical music (+35 pts)
-Have a good job (+25 pts)
-Live in a good neighborhood (+25 pts)
-Be a Republican (+100 pts)
-Be a conservative Republican (+9999999999 pts)
Ignorant people say that. And people who look down on their own culture say that. They act as if white people are the only people who speak proper. And the part about not acting like your race stereotypically would, well everyone is different. People generalize people and put everyone all in one category and say this is basically how your suppose to act. Cookie cutter syndrome. A group of people that act alike do not make a race. They watch white people and they assume if your doing something that a white person would do that's not normal. People fail to realize that people are individuals. Whoever accuse you of acting white, they are low esteemed people. Nothing is considered acting white for something you prefer to do. Dont let yourself becoming another low esteemed person like those people they accused you.

Acting white to many is:
*Speaking proper
*Having goals
*Does not speak slang
*Isn't loud aka ghetto
*Is focused on his/her education
*The shy one
Oddly I have seen real whites who LOVE clubs, smokes, drinks, are loud andeven had one white girl want to beatme up because my dad was working witha compnay who would be removing her childhood home....a tralier park and replaceit with a pool for the neighborhood. To me white girls are more wild...omg.....one invited me to a party and I found out she was bi and the party.....ok at the end I blocked her calls and had to go lay down.
All races are not perfect and some are what people like to call white.
I hope this stupid myth leaves because I was called Auntie tom, oreo, white lover, and everything theycould think of and even sometimes today by co workers!! They sayI havea white girl inside of me...sad.
Haha you're not the only one. I guess it would be like if you were black and your friends were all black and they talked like they were ghetto gangsters but you talked like you had just swallowed a college text book. I guess then you would be acting white. It's only logical to me because people say white people act black when they act gangster. It all comes down to the history of education and race relations.
