    i woke up this morning with really bad pain on my left side of my neck. when i try turning it to my left the pain comes in. please help.


  • Try soaking in a hot bath or shower to relax the spasm in your neck. you can make yourself a neck warming support by taking a sock (clean!) and filling with rice(whatever type you have at home is fine), tying a knot where the rice ends. you will want the rice to fill up the sock so use plenty. You can then microwave the sock in 30 second increments until it reaches a nice heat, being sure it isn't too hot to place against your skin. Wrap the sock around your neck being sure it is in position against the area that is most sore. you can do this laying down preferable or sitting up if necessary. The moist heat with the firm support from the sock will help relax the spasmed muscles. You can re-heat as many times as you need. If you can, also try taking an anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Hope this helps.
