why does xbmc stop playing when it encounters a missing song in a playlist. a long time ago i made a big playlist, but in the mean time i've reorganized my music database a bit, so some songs are misplaced or even missing on my harddrive.
i'm sure that i'm not the only one who's annoyed by this and presume that everybody else prefers that it just skips the song and continue the next. Ubuntu brainstorm - Totem Movie and Music Player: Skip files in :: Idea #15251: Totem Movie and Music Player: Skip files in playlists on error, It's a legit error, e.g. an mp3 is missing, so it can't play it, http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/15251/HOME |
btw somebody knows of a script for cleaning up a playlist???
one question for the masses... do you all think xbmc should remove the unplayable (for whatever reason) items from the playlist *window* (not from the saved playlist), or just skip to the next item when they are encountered?just skip to the next item please  Recently active topics in Songbird tagged with playlist:: When adding songs to a playlist in Itunes, a small box would pop up and warn me if the song was already on that playlist. It gave options to skip adding the http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/tags/playlistHOME |
i took a look at this last night. this should be an easy fix. one question for the masses... do you all think xbmc should remove the unplayable (for whatever reason) items from the playlist *window* (not from the saved playlist), or just skip to the next item when they are encountered?
fyi, i had to commit a fix to the initial fix. the first version broke random play. i didnt notice it until later that evening when my playlist was only full of invalid files :)
i've noticed this too for the past few weeks. each time i upload a new build to my xbox, different tracks won't play in my playlist even when making a new playlist containing the tracks on my xbox hd.
skip. woot, thanks for the fix
this "feature" has always been in xbmc and if i'd have known it would be fixed this fast..
well, now it's fixed on my birthday.
now i just have to get hold of a binary.
sometimes i wish i never stopped being a programmer, this makes me feel so dependant...
it stops playback and doesnt skip to the next song? i'll take a look at this on the weekend.
i'll send that... skip :)
