I have a business permit in california and have it under my name and my partner. I'm going to resign and i want to take my name off of the permit or any of the records the IRS may have. How do i do this? Any help would be great
You have to have a legal document that turns over your half of the partnership. I had to do it with a production company once, but we did it through a lawyer. Depending on the size of the business and how much you trust your partner, you may want to get some form of legal advice, because if you're not properly removed from the company it could be disastrous for you.
You probably will need to contact the BOE. Board of Equilization. They are the ones that issue the california sellers permits.
