When I use the Insert Table button on the Standard Toolbar the largest table I can create is 4x5. A co-worker can drag her mouse and the table grid expands to be whatever size she wants.

I have Windows XP with Office 2003.
When trying to duplicate your problem, I discovered that I had the same "problem". I could not expand the table to be inserted beyond the 4 x 5 size- until I pressed the left mouse key. I could expand from one cell to 4 x 5 without using the mouse.
