Sometime during the past year ( I'm not certain about the 12 month
thing) I saw an article on the following topic: there is little or no
drug abuse in children when family members [i.e. the parents and
their children] are consistently engaged in volunteer work together.
Please note that the volunteer work had nothing to do with drug abuse
education or counseling of children or teenagers about drug abuse.
Please find this article or the research it was based on
Renoir is making the following changes to this question: The price

If this is the right one, please let me know and i will provide a full

Researcher provided only one website, which is a VERY poor answer.
If possible, I would rate the answer as no stars, because researcher
said in his request for clarification that he would "provide a full
answer". All he did was paraphrase the one website that he provided.

I am sorry that you did not feel the answer was satisfactory, but you
could have asked for an answer clarification to allow me to address
the points that you have raised rather than just mark it 1 out of five
without a chance to make it more acceptable to you. .

I even checked to ensure that I had in fact found the right answer and
you confirmed it was and I should proceed with the full answer.
Since you had asked for a specific article and I found that article
there was little point in mentioning irrelevant web sites as i advised
within my answer all the others were concerned with volunteer work
that did not involve drug abuse.
Since you had already stipulated that you were not after these sites
you no doubt would have pointed that out.
The site that i did find, i mentioned had various pages within it that
you could go to from the main site and I listed them within my answer.
Therefore, i feel i answered the question set and if as you say, you
required further information, it would have been helpful if you had
clarified your question to say what other aspects you wanted and how
many other sources you wanted quoting.
We as researchers can only answer the question set and i have done so,
it is a little unfair then to criticise the answer based on the fact
that you wanted us to explore and report on things that you did not
mention in the original question and do not request an answer
clarification on if you are not happy with the answer given.

I actually found a few sites that "inferred" that family involvement
in volunteer work, could reduce the probability of one or more members
of that family being onvolved in drug related crime or abuse.
However, Steve Cuthbertson the president and CEO of "Youth Service
America" noted that "The more involved a youth is in service
activities, the less likely he or she will be to have negative
behavior as a teen. There are correlations between increased volunteer
work and lower rates of drug abuse, teen pregnancy and other harmful
behaviors"
