okay, here's my problem. i recently was forced to replace the harddrive in my xbox (it died on me.) and the only thing i had backed up was the c: and e: drives, and nothing on my f: drives, forcing me to use a different build of xbmc, due to the mirror being down.

i'm now using the 2005-09-06-t3ch build, and i'm completely unable to play videos off the harddrive or ones i've burned to disk. everytime i go to play a video, it corrupts the db and forces me to delete it so the bookmarks will show up again.

i've done a good deal of searching through the forums, but nothing i've found have been able to fix the problem. i've tried lowering the cache to different variables, even to 0 -- but that didn't help.

from what i understand from the log file, i'm getting disk i/o errors? not sure whats causing it, but here's the log -- thanks in advance to anyone who can give me some answers for this.

please triple check to see if your hd is locked. everybody who has had this issue has fixed it by unlocking their hd.

thanks for the reply, but i did. i've used a couple different programs used for locking/unlocking hds, including the xenium os software. all of them say that the hd is not locked, and does not support locking.

after some searching, i managed to get a build dated 7-20-2005, and that fixed all my playback issues. i read another message that some people were having the problem with the database not being compiled if their harddrives were locked? mine is not locked tho, so don't know what was causing it with the latest builds.

either way, i reccomend the same thing to someone having the same trouble with xbmc not playing any media files.
