My qualifications are:
I have flown to Australia more than once
I have flown Qantas once within Australia
When completing my MBA I passed statistics, economics (micro and macro) and marketing
Finally, I studied Australia the country, and read the Economist Country Report for Australia when doing an unrelated business case study.
Based on what I read on this forum, that is enough to qualify me as an expert on the Australian Airline Industry and can answer questions concerning the flights within the country, the airline(s) frequent flyer programs, lounges, what to expect when flying in Y, J or F etc.
Exactly where should I start practicing my new found excellence and how much do you think I can charge for these expert opinions?
:D
Maaatttttttt Dayyymonnnnnnn
SMU?
Is you MBA from Bishops? :D :D
ML: a few questions.
Do you know what my chances are of upgrading next week between Alice Springs and Cairns?
Your chances are excellent. Virgin Blue has switched to 747 Combi's on this route, J is mostly full of op-ups, with your status on AC, I am certain they will move you forward. If you want to be completely sure of your upgrade clearing, get a doctor's note indicating you cannot sit in a normal Y seat.
Does Australia have nuclear weapons? Al Qaeda had attacked Australian tourists in Indonesia, so I assume so.
We are prohibited about talking of nuclear weapons. (hint, hint - why else would they fly 747 combi's on routes like Alice Springs and Cairns)
Also, do you have any information on Aboriginal languages? Did you learn any when you were there?
Of course I have information on them. I picked up a boomerang and diggery-doo and by having them next to me on my flight back, they transmitted their knowledge to me. Oh yeah, I have also seen Priscilla Queen of Desert more than once. :)
Distraction of the week? Somebody must be bored at divinitiy school.
Not bored at all. Actually I am enjoying it immensely. I am just lining options for once I am ordained... after all, everyone knows Minister's only work on Sunday mornings and have the rest of the week off :D
Now that you mention it, paying for that ticket to YVR just to get my hands on shore and get into the brawl sounds quite worth it. :D :)
If you go perhaps you could try Harmony's new Business Class product :D
Ok, here’s is a question.
When flying these routes, can one purchase two tickets under the same name for the same flight (i.e., one business class and one upgradeable economy class) and then cancel the J ticket at the airport to free-up a J seat and use an UG cert?
Remember that one? :D
Maaatttttttt Dayyymonnnnnnn
:D
2: Australia does not have nuclear weapons, it was a target as a result of it's support of the US, it has troops on the ground in Iraq.
Thank you for confirming that they are psychic, as this attack happened before the Iraq war.
OBL: psychic, and only hates Americans.
ML: a few questions.

To meet everyone or to watch the brawl? :D:D:D

When's Virgin Blue putting in their order for a 345? What will the colour scheme be? Will everyone sitting in Y have an op-ug except on Fridays?
;)
ML: I'm more of an expert on the Australian airline industry than you are. I've never been to Australia ;)
Sorry YYCollie, I have been consulting for over 15 years, you are just beginning. At about the 5th year mark you will realise that no knowledge will certainly get you through and let you do ok as a consultant, but having just a bit of knowledge (i.e. buzzwords, being able to quote one pop-psychology business book etc.) elevates you to the partner level and increases your billings exponentially.
Say are you looking for a job? Someone has to bill for time on Sunday mornings.

And on this note, we are pleased to announce that Team America will be the feature movie on all flights to / from and within Australia for the Month of April. :) NationMaster - Encyclopedia: Amelia Earhart:: Amelia Earhart being greeted by Mrs. Foster Welch, Mayor of Southampton, with many innovations that shaped the international airline industry. http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Amelia-EarhartHOME |
save your money.
Is that really something you want to admit????
Absolutely - I am proud of my cultural training in all things Australian. I am also willing to admit I have seen Mad Max and read Neville Shute (better be quiet now or I will be over-qualifed for this position soon)
Any idea what the legal drinking age is in Cairns? Do you have to be that age to get in the Virgin Blue Lounge their?
There is no minimum in Cairns. Once you have been there you will understand. Virgin Blue does not have a lounge in Cairns but you are welcome to us the SQ KrisFlyer First Class Lounge, and yes you can drink.

Empress told me that seat 15M on those planes is used as the pilot rest seat, but only when mtacchi is flying.
Empress would be correct. mtacchi is not flying that route, he was recently downgraded to Darwin - Alice Springs due to some negative comments he made on a Frequent Traveller bulletin board
Hey, MapleLeaf, once yore ordained, do you think God will give you unlimited upgrades?
Simon, once I am ordained I will be flying paid first all the time. Doesn't everyone realise exactly how rich churches are? Fighting for upgrades is for the peons, oops I mean congregants.
Ok, here’s is a question.
When flying these routes, can one purchase two tickets under the same name for the same flight (i.e., one business class and one upgradeable economy class) and then cancel the J ticket at the airport to free-up a J seat and use an UG cert?
Why of course you can do that. Perish the thought of you spending any more money than you have to. Of course you can just use your AP status and get a complimentary upgrade, or get a doctor's note to get pre-seated in the J cabin.
My expert understanding is that you can do pretty much anything you want when flying in Australia, based on a sample of less than 5, and then go and post like it is the Gospel truth. Say... if it is the Gospel truth can I use it for a sermon?
your new found calling
Distraction of the week? Somebody must be bored at divinitiy school. @:-)
FewMiles..
save your money.
Are you referring to us saving our money and donating to the poor while you go and pay AC from keeping out of bankruptcy from you buying your J?

1: Depends on day of week, Tues, Wed are best.
2: Australia does not have nuclear weapons, it was a target as a result of it's support of the US, it has troops on the ground in Iraq.
3: Check here for courses on Aboriginal language and culture.

....everyone knows Minister's [sic] only work on Sunday mornings and have the rest of the week off :D
Oh boy, check back with us in a couple of years. :D
:D :D :D

;)
Nope its changed to an A380... from Alice Springs to Sydney.... it will do the flight 4 times a day.
Nope Saint Mary's. I couldn't get into Bishop's ;)
I have heard a rumor of a certain Oakville member who is being interviewed by the Austrailian Airline Industry as a Public Relations person in North America. His new found company"Ozzie Mates Never Interfere"(there is an acronym there folks ;) )will be handling all requests for instant Status and the "do's" schedule for central and western Australia. :p
Oh boy, check back with us in a couple of years. :D
I know, I know... I didn't factor in time to write a sermon if sermons.org has nothing of use. Ok, 1/2 day through the week, at your leisure, plus Sunday mornings.
Given what the job pays, they certainly don't expect me to work more than 10-12 hours, do they?
Mapleleaf, I wishyou all the best in your new found calling......but you will now have to change your handle(how about digeree(sp)do man :p ) and remove your maple leaf tattoo!
Is the washroom ratio low enough for you to take that flight?
And on this note, we are pleased to announce that Team America will be the feature movie on all flights to / from and within Australia for the Month of April. :)
It's also on AVOD this month :D

Based on these random posts, I wonder if there's going to be a fight break out in the upcoming YVR Do when Mr Shore9 shows up ...
I for sure will try to attend and meet everyone in the West Coast.
If you go perhaps you could try Harmony's new Business Class product :D
Hey, wrong thread! :D
Is it going to smell like sh!t, be full of sh!t, are actually be sh!t? ;) :D
Hahahahahahahaha... ...?!? What kind of comment is that?!?

HAHAHAHA!
Perhaps I should! I'll probably be the only one that'd be on it cause AC Elites don't touch that crap and only do upgrades.
Now that you mention it, paying for that ticket to YVR just to get my hands on shore and get into the brawl sounds quite worth it. :D :)
I think we should all pool some money / points together and get us all there -- I wouldn't want to miss this. :D
How much does getting a small tattoo on your hip/stomach hurt?
Do anyone else have an itchy anus? ?
