Opiates, including Demerol (meperidine) and others, NO:
These typically will not show up in a routine drug screen 30 days
later. The clearance rate of Demerol is roughly 2-3 hours or 2-3 days
in the case of a chronic user.
Benzodiazepines, including Valium (Diazepam) and others, YES:
These generally clear the system in a one time user in up to 7 hours,
In an occasional, but infrequent user the chemical can clear the
system in roughly 3 days, but in a ?chronic user? the clearance rate
can be as much as 4-6 weeks.
So, having said that, if you were given a substantial amount of
Diazepam 30 days ago, or a sustained drip for a significant time
during your hospitalization for intravenous sedation or pain control,
