BibleGateway.com - Passage Lookup: Exodus 40:: New American Standard 12Then you shall (J)bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway the poles to the ark, and put the mercy seat on top of the ark. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+40&version=49;HOME | After reading thru some of the threads it sounds as if AC has just reconfigured the J class, rather than putting in new seats. This past summer I travelled to Europe in the new J class on an A340, the star-alliance livery. However the seats were a different colour than the seats in J on another 340 I flew on recently, they also had a different look to them, as if shaped differently. Were there some new seats put in to the new J??
Select Dash-8 planes also have video-on-demand, at least in seat 1C. But you have to bring your own DVDs.
There are 2 A340s out there with different J seats than the rest of the fleet. Those 2 A340s have on demand PTVs in J. No new seats were installed on any of the fleet, only their pitch was expanded.
Personal TV On Demand is similar to personal TV these days, but instead of playing the movies in a cycle, you get to pick the movie or TV programs you want to watch on the TV menu -- play it anytime you want -- with your choice of fast-forwarding and rewinding or pausing... it is pretty nice. I am not sure if the J seat rennovation is still going on since the backrupcy announcements...
Projects may be on hold but the meal services seem to be going well... more elaborate service...

FIN909 and 910 are the 2 A340s with VOD. I was on FIN910 today. The system kept on crashing as usual and the system at 3 seats could not be restarted. Not fun for those 3 pax as they had no PTV for the 12 hours HKG flight.

the on demand video is hard drive based and allows a selection of TV programming and feature films. Stop, pause, FF or rewind at will. nice big screens too.
the new meal service introduced last year has been well received and has been expanded to long-haul N.A. flights. Better food, individual plating, new linen colour schemes, less meal carts more hand service. all in all it takes a bit longer methinks but is much nicer, less airplane servicelike and more restaurant style.

I flew J on Flt 016 YVR - YYZ last month. It was an A340-300 but I'm not sure which seat variant. It was the most comfortable airline seat I've ever had. The powered leg rest had a lip at the bottom which gave foot support at the perfect length for my long legs. It was the first time I've found a leg rest that was useable for a sustained period. Yeah well you should always assume that if it says 767 that it will be the domestic 767. I'm not sure if they even have any of the international config 767's left anyways. As for the 763's I believe that there are only 2 domestically configured 763's so I usually feel pretty assured that I'm getting the international configured ones.
I think AC should consider a reconfiguration on some their B767 fleet.(tail 622 and similar) I was J last month on AC 041 YVR/HNL,great on board service from the crew, let down by the seating arrangements!
I have been at the 'front end' of such a B767 before on the GLA/YYZ service where I had paid extra for a S (super comfort) class seat in a Y class flight - content with the arrangements here as GLA/YYZ is all Y. Not so impressed where I have paid for a J class ticket. Even the crew remarked that it was a difficult aircraft to provide a service in!
what exactly is on demand?? you can watch the movies when you want, kinda of like the DVD players on the CP 763s??
How much does getting a small tattoo on your hip/stomach hurt?
