I got a nautical star on my inner wrist, I followed her directions and moisterized 4-5 times a day and washed it once a day w/ dial unscented soap. The solid part of the star is all scabbed and cracked. From areas where the scab fell off, I can see ink covering my skin....so that might not be that bad. I'm on my fifth - seventh day of having the tattoo...did she overwork the area? will retouching fix the ink problem, if there is really a problem? Please tell me in your experience,...as a person with a tattoo or tattoo artist, or somebody who knows how tattoo's should heal! thanks.
don't worry its fine its supposed to scab and then the scabs will fall off hope this helps :) xox DON'T PICK IT OFF!!!!
Tattoos are NOT suppose to scab, Tattoos Scab due to the area being overwork or that the area is extremely sensitve, but the natural healing process doen't include scabbing, The needle or Needles force ink into your skin and your skin heals by sheading the damaged layers. It's normal for your tattoo to scab and itch, thats the healing process just like any wound. Don't over moisturise it, and don't use anything on it other then a mild unscented soap. I just got a tattoo on my wrist and it did the same thing and took a couple of weeks to fully heal. DO NOT pick at the scab, let it fall of naturally. Be careful to keep your tattoo clean, it can easily get infected. You only need to worry about infestion if it becomed red or really painful.
you need to have it looked at b/c thats a sign of infection, go back to the place you had it done and check out how sanitary they are
Scabbing doesnt mean that they went too deep, its just means they worked the area a little hard. Youll be fine, you may need a touch up, but thats not that big of deal.
Don't let the scab crack off or there goes your tattoo. Just keep putting moisturizer on it or even Vaseline should be better.
Keep doing what you are doing. Scabs are normal. Do not pick at them it will increase scaring. Keep cleaning and moisturizing and it will be just fine.
I never used to put moisturizer more than twice a day, but that's what I was told to do. Sounds like the area was overworked or has a bit of an infection...deep scabs like that can sometimes mean that the color will not be even once the tattoo heals. I'd go into the shop where you had it done and get them to look at. But until then don't pick at the scabs, keep it clean, and moisturized if that's what she told you to do. If it comes out uneven because of the scabbing, they can always retouch it for you.
My daughter used Bepanthin, which is a baby nappy rash cream. Worked like a charm, and she had the same problem with a really large tat.
the area on your inner wrist is very sensitive, so the tattoo will be more dry and cracked/scabbed than other areas. I had this problem with my wrist tattoo.
Dont pick at it. Keep up with the lotion 4-5 times a day. You should do this for up to 10 days. Just let the scabs heal themselves. If it continues call the artist and ask their advice. You may need a retouch.
sounds like your artist may have went a little deep. i use an antibiotic cream on mine. they heal must faster and better..keep doing what you are doing for a few more days. contact your artist if the tat doesn't get any better.
im not that great about tattoos
