I have a 2007 Nissan Maxmia & can't seem to figure out why my gear shifter [sorry, I love cars, but I know relatively NOTHING about them lol] is hard to move. This just started a few days ago.

it could be the gear box go speak with a mechanic
carry to a shop have it checked out but it sounds to me like its low on fluid or or a cable could be frayed..is it auto or str8 shift didnt say in question but it can be true in eather case auto or str8 shift
Try rubbing it a little before shifting gears .
Take it to the dealership you got it from it should still be under warranty.
i love the way you say that, shift thing,lol. the gear shift linkage might be binding. you can tell if it,s the transmission or the linkage. unhook the linkage from the transmission and work the gear shift. if it still works stiff, spray the linkage with pb blaster or wd-40, that should make it work better. get an oil change? maybe a gear slipped. who knows, take it back to the dealer if you have service warranty on it.
