do I have to keep it on her? She was spayed 4 days ago, and I put the cone on her 2 days ago. How long should she wear it, to be sure that she's not picking and the incision heals enough?
I don't know the proper name for this collar thing, but you know what I'm talking about, right?

When my cat Tigger got neutered, the vet said to keep it on for about 9 - 14 days but it may be different for a cat that just got spayed. I would suggest that you call your vet and just ask. They're usually very helpful, especially after a surgery like that. =) VoyForums: ETWF 3-D Hd Holo-mc::

It depends on how fast and how well your cat heals.
When I got my cat spayed it took about a week to heal enough.
You can leave it on until her stitches come out. She should have another check in 5 days (if its like the vets I work at). The collar will not hurt her. As long as she can eat and drink and it is not rubbing her don't worry about it. If its a bit long cut it down.
My dog chews his feet (just a habit now, not a skin issue) and he wears one when were out or at night when no one can keep an eye on him.

2 weeks, then check with your vet to be sure the stitches healed up enough to take the cone off. It's just called a "Cone", you were right on! :o)
hi mine got done last 2 weeks ago,you only keep it on a week just till the nippy thing goes, you can cut around them also to make them smaller so they can eat because the wound i as at the side they wont get at it being cut,my daughter and I where calling it are new lamp shade lol, it doesn't hurt them at all,they walk funny with it on tho, no take it off then they will lick at it but thats ok.all cats tounges have a healing thing in it.
