I think there is one for AIM but I'm not sure about any other instant messengers.
Yeah there is a great application that allows all the main social networking IM's. Yahoo and MSN included.
It's called IM+ All-In-One Messenger, its free of charge too so its practically worth downloading if you like it or not.
Hope this helps
There is an application for a couple of different messengers. (those ones included) Just search in the app store "IM All In One" Finally, iPhone annoused, also with multi-touch screen:: It uses apple ipod dock connector, cant be upgraded, cant remove the battery, www.rejon.org MSN, AIM, Yahoo Chat: kidproto Jabber Chat: rejon at gristle.org http://lists.openmoko.org/pipermail/community/2007-January/001005.htmlHOME | iPod Touch Tips And Tricks Touch Podium:: clicking the home button in any application, or with the screen off will bring the horizontal keyboard to chat on AIM, MSN, Yahoo, GTalk, ICQ, etc. Using http://ipodtoucher.wordpress.com/2008/01/28/tutorial-ipod-touch-tips-and-tricks/HOME |
Good Luck
Don't bother with IM all in one.
There are two I currently use, both are pretty good.
First, Fring, which is the most popular right now. It's free.
It supports Skype, MSN Messenger, ICQ, Fring Brings Skype and More to the iPhone and iPod Touch (For Free :: A few web applications promised the ability to chat via Skype on the iPhone, but messaging services such as MSN Messenger, ICQ, Twitter, Yahoo Messenger and AIM. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1104796/fring_brikype_and_more_to_the.htmlHOME |
Google Talk™, SIP, Twitter, AIM & Yahoo!™
It has a little beeping sound when someone IMs you (Even if you don't have a speaker on iPod touch, it somehow just makes a beeping sound)
You can also make VOIP calls. Look on the source link below.
BeejiveIM is another one I like, I use this one the most. You have to buy this if you don't have a Jailbroken iPod. This app doesn't have the beeping sound, I use this one in class.
Supports AIM®/iChat®/MobileMe®, MSN®/Windows Live®, Yahoo!®, MySpace, GoogleTalk®, ICQ®, & Jabber
The best part about this is that if you quit the app or don't have wifi for a while it still keeps you logged in. Also, It will say how many new IMs you haven't looked at on the icon (Like the mail icon shows a little red number on the side, it looks exactly like that)
If you don't want to bother with buying anything or jailbreaking your iPod, get Fring, it's just as good as beejive basically.
