The strange thing is that if you try YYZ to NRT, they give you a routing YYZ/YUL/IAD. So why does the site suggest that you fly through YUL to get to NRT from YYZ, but you cannot find a flight starting from YUL?
BTW - does anyone know what happened to the YYZ/NRT direct flight (AC001)?
I do know that I can get to NRT via YVR, even if the website says I can't. Any other suggestions for routing on *A?

I would imagine it was load restricted due to the distance and a/c involved.
And don't forget to factor in the headwinds you'd get when travelling that way.

001: I believe it's less than daily in November, ergo on your dates you can get the nonstop (002) back, but not outbound.

Yup, that works! But I still don't understand why the site does not give me a routing via YVR or IAD on my preferred dates of travel - rather than telling me they have nothing available those dates?
Anyway, if I change my dates of travel to take advantage of the direct YYZ/NRT flights, does anyone have any comments on these flights? It appears they are on the 777W.
Yes, I've done 001 non-stop YYZ>NRT and 002 NRT>YYZ on two (2) occassions, both in J, once in 1995 and again in 2001.
Canadi>n was the better flight BTW for a number of reasons including their much superior food and beverage service, et al.
Unless you have a reason to be in YVR, take the direct out of YYZ. The trip is long, even as a direct (14 hours), so a stop over will increase your fatigue at the end of the segment(s).
Obviously upgrade into J, if possible, as this will significantly help you deal with the strain of such a long flight. If you are unable to upgarde due to status restrictions (i.e. no certs) ask on 'this' Board if someone is on the same flight (as they oftn are) and perhaps some kind traveller will be in a position to comp you in J.
I have much more to advise on the trip but space and time don't permit anything else other than the above for now.
