Economy RTW with SQ/AC/LX/QF/UA/CX [Archive] - SQTalk:: [Archive] Economy RTW with SQ/AC/LX/QF/UA/CX Star Alliance Partners ADL/LHR/YYC/LAX/SIN/ADL using SQ on the ADL/LHR, LAX/SIN/ADL sectors and AC on http://www.sqtalk.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-1582.htmlHOME | I am UA users and will have a chance to try AC. Could any AC experts here can tell me these details?
1. Do the AC lounges in LAX, YYC and LHR provide foods? What kinds of food do they offer?
2. I just read AC website to find AC lounges seems to provide free Wifi now. Are free Wireless internet access provided into these three lounges?
Thanks.
Is the never ending renovation/expansion actually completed now?
I am sitting here right now. The rennovations are not even close to complete. It looks like a construction site in here.
Yes. The NZ is a designated *G lounge. Never had problems entering with my SE card.
Can non-status passengers in paid J also access the NZ lounge?
=aw
1. Yes. It depends on the time of day, but will be (healthy) snacks rather than a full meal. In LAX, you can also try the NZ lounge nearby.
2. Yes. It's free.

If you are flying J on a *A carrier.
We don't recommend UA fliers with RCC experience try AC's MLLs for fear you may suffer great anxiety recognizing how little you get from UA. However, LAX is not the best of MLLs and is pretty basic in its catering. YYC and LHR are much closer to the norm, with salad and soup and cheese and bread, free alcoholic drinks, things UA would never offer its domestic RCC members.
Thanks, a friend is flying LAX-YUL in J on the redeye on an Aeroplan award. I'll tell her to check out the NZ lounge as well (never been in it myself, only ever the MLL lounge). If it's open, of course. Washington, DC Reagan National Airport - AirPower Wiki:: Wifi is provided in NWA loungesand is available in the terminal area around them. with several cubicles set up and copius amounts of AC plugs for charging up. http://airpower.jeffsandquist.com/default.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1HOME |
I was once in the MLL very early, so early that the VS passengers were still there (I knew something was up from all the funny accents ;)). The drinks and food were a cut above what was normally there for AC passengers, and disappeared when the VS passengers did.
And let me add I have no problem with that, the VS passengers were on LAX-LHR (international J) while the AC passengers were on LAX-YVR, -YYC, -YYZ, and -YUL (transborder J): it was entirely reasonable to have a different level of catering, though it would have been nice (and YYZ's catering while waiting for YYZ-YUL was probably as good as VS's).

If given a choice, I would head into the NZ one as it is far superior and located adjacent to the MLL.
Does NZ offer free drinks too?
Yes. The NZ wines there are awesome.
I dont think the NZ Lax lounge opens until noon, which is why I have to use the AC MLL.
That's because the first NZ flight does not leave until late afternoon (the flight to LHR). VS UC pax also uses the NZ lounge (they've switched it from the MLL since last year) and the 1st flight also doesn't depart until 5pm-ish.
There are additional restrictions on the YYC lounge during construction. See here for details: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=710462&highlight=maple+leaf+lounge
Was through the YYC MLL last week on the 19th while waiting for my 7AM flight. Impressive - I like the open layout -- even the floor to ceiling windows are awesome to look at the planes while the sun is still rising...
Good food indeed, filled up on it before my flight to YYZ that morning.
Sanosuke!

I dont think the NZ Lax lounge opens until noon, which is why I have to use the AC MLL. On the positive the AC LAX MLL seems to always have the booze out, not like normal when it is put out at 11am.

The NA UA RCCs are pathetic compared to NA AC MLLs.
I'm confident enough to say that :)
I hate the LAX MLL but it's still better.

Thanks for the tip! I always thought MLL in LAX was below standard, but didn't realize there was an alternative. (Don't go through there very often.) Does NZ offer free drinks too?

If I am *G but flying on an AC flight ex LAX, can I still use the NZ lounge?

Business center is open as well as is the spacious seating area by the windows in the renovated MLL. I went in at 5AM on July 19 to sample it out. :) Only a little comestic construction left on the west side of the MLL but other than that, its pretty much there.
Sanosuke!
How much does getting a small tattoo on your hip/stomach hurt?
