Who can resemble Jehovah among the sons of God? Psalm 89:6
If you compare this verse with chapter one of Hebrews, is Michael the archangel Jesus?
Jesus is God
NOT michael the archangel, or anyone else for that matter!
I am not a Jehovah's Witnesses but the old testament scriptures Jesus never was mentioned because he never existed most of the stories in the old testament, the bible and the koran are made up from others old scripts from Egypt,Mesopotamia,India,Greece,Persia. The archangel Michael and jesus never can be the same because they never existed before just made up for all the generations until today. The same with all ancient stories about Chrishna,Budha,Osiris,Odin,Crite,Baal,Ba... or Eros all made up by us but the real fact is that we can believe in anything we wish that is why we are humans but we do not act humane. sorry if i offended any one. that is only my belief. but the question is still valid and very interesting.
Hi Question Everything! Can I call you "?" for short?
I didn't realize you were having doctrinal concerns.
There are good arguments for and against the Deity of Jesus. Personally, when I weighed the evidence, I came to the conclusion that Jesus is God and the the Trinity is true.
Obviously, this is an important matter.
John 8:24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins."
But I think God is very gracious in this area, especially for those of us who have been JWs. I believe is more important keep looking for truth and trusting God, then it is have all the answers.
What irritates me to no end when I'm told that there is no Scriptural evidence for the Trinity. Saying the Trinity is "pagan" is just a cop-out. It's what the Scriptures say that really matters and anyone who has studied the topic can likely see both sides of the argument!
Whatever conclusion you come to, it was a bold faced lie that we were told that there is no reason to consider that we what we were learning might be wrong.
So, keep reading your Bible to learn "what the Bible really teaches!" And ultimately, just make getting to know God your priority.
BTW, I love your new graphic! :)

After closely studying these pasages in context, I came to the conclusion they mean just what they say, even in the NWT (but I realize that not everyone agrees):
Hebrews 7:3 - Jesus had no beginning, nor end
Micah 5:2 - From early times, from the days of time indefinite
(Compare with Habakkuk 1:12 and Psalm 93:2 about Jehovah.)
Hebrews 9:11-12 - Not of this creation
John 1:3 All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence.
Hebrews 3:3-4 - Jesus/God created everything.
Rev. 1: 17,18 - Jesus is the First and the Last (Compare with Rev 22:13 - Jehovah is the First and the Last. How can there be more than one First? more than one Last?)
Phil 2:6 He was existing in God s form. Holocaust - Jehovah Witnesses - Nazi's Persecuted:: Perhaps no other group stood so firmly in their beliefs as the Jehovah Witnesses . Hitler felt very threatened by this strong group of Christians because http://www.holocaustforgotten.com/Jehovah.htmHOME |
(Compare with Isaiah 43:10)
Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
(NOT an angel turned man turned back to angel.)
Hebrews 2:5 - It is not to angels that He has subjected the earth to A Common Bond - worldwide support network for GLBT former and :: A Common Bond is the worldwide support network for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals who were, or still are, associated with Jehovah's http://www.gayxjw.org/HOME |
Hebrews 1:6 - All the angels did obeisance/worshipped Jesus
(so then did He do obeisance/worship Himself?)
Isaiah 9:6 - Mighty God, Eternal Father
Isaiah 7:14/Mt 1:23 - Immanuel: God With Us
John 20:28 - Jesus is "the Lord of me and the God of me."
John 10:30 - Jesus and the Father are one.
Has anyone thought that maybe, just think, that maybe Michael is Adam? That would make sense as then the other 7 archangels would be other prominent prophets throughout history, ie. Abraham, moses..... That would make Jehovah, Jesus Christ the same one who created the worlds, who would come down in the body of a man to redeem his people! Just a thought!
No. You fail.
Jesus is NOT God, and Psalm 89:6 has no bearing either way on Jesus being Michael the Archangel. But why is it extremely reasonable to conclude that Jesus, indeed IS Michael?
Who Is Michael the Archangel?
THE spirit creature called Michael is not mentioned often in the Bible. However, when he is referred to, he is in action. In the book of Daniel, Michael is battling wicked angels; in the letter of Jude, he is disputing with Satan; and in Revelation, he is waging war with the Devil and his demons. By defending Jehovah s rulership and fighting God s enemies, Michael lives up to the meaning of his name Who Is Like God? But who is Michael?
At times, individuals are known by more than one name. For example, the patriarch Jacob is also known as Israel, and the apostle Peter, as Simon. (Genesis 49:1, 2; Matthew 10:2) Likewise, the Bible indicates that Michael is another name for Jesus Christ, before and after his life on earth. Let us consider Scriptural reasons for drawing that conclusion.
Archangel. God s Word refers to Michael the archangel. (Jude 9) This term means chief angel. Notice that Michael is called the archangel. This suggests that there is only one such angel. In fact, the term archangel occurs in the Bible only in the singular, never in the plural. Moreover, Jesus is linked with the office of archangel. Regarding the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thessalonians 4:16 states: The Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel s voice. Thus the voice of Jesus is described as being that of an archangel. This scripture therefore suggests that Jesus himself is the archangel Michael.
Army Leader. The Bible states that Michael and his angels battled with the dragon . . . and its angels. (Revelation 12:7) Thus, Michael is the Leader of an army of faithful angels. Revelation also describes Jesus as the Leader of an army of faithful angels. (Revelation 19:14-16) And the apostle Paul specifically mentions the Lord Jesus and his powerful angels. (2 Thessalonians 1:7; Matthew 16:27; 24:31; 1 Peter 3:22) So the Bible speaks of both Michael and his angels and Jesus and his angels. (Matthew 13:41) Since God s Word nowhere indicates that there are two armies of faithful angels in heaven one headed by Michael and one headed by Jesus it is logical to conclude that Michael is none other than Jesus Christ in his heavenly role.
Hbr 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hbr 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Hbr 1:3 Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Hbr 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Hbr 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
Hbr 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
Hbr 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
Hbr 1:8 But unto the Son [he saith], Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness [is] the sceptre of thy kingdom.
Hbr 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Hbr 1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
Hbr 1:11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
Hbr 1:12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
Hbr 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Hbr 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
This is very clear to say that Michael is not Jesus as God is saying to which of the angels did I ever say? This is stating this retorically or I should say in a manner that best fits what you are asking. The answer to the question of which angel did I ever say? Is "None" and is about as clear as you can get it. In fact one verse calls him "God"
John 17:5- And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
This "best answer" is completely absurd, and way out of context. It doesn't even answer the question. That shows a lot about the asker to choose that garbage as the best. Report Abuse
Yes, Mi'chael is Jesus 'in action'.
In Rev. 12:7 "And war broke out in heaven: Mi'chael and his angels battled with the dragon..." Mi'chael meaning "Who Is Like God?"
Daniel 12:1 "And during that time Mi'chael will stand up, the great prince (the great angel, the great ruler) who is standing in behalf of the sons of your people."
I hope this helps :)
