I will be travelling NYC-PHL on the 25th of Jan and PHL-EWR on the 26th and so far I have found this price.
NYC-PHL in the afternoon on the 25/1 46$ OW
PHL-EWR in the afternoon on the 26/1 58$ OW
Is this the best price I could get? I need to be back at EWR again to catch a flight at 23.55 Is there any code or referal thing I could use?
Normally I take NJ Transit between these two cities but I would like to earn some Amtrak miles(will be transfered to UA later on).

The 25% discount mentioned above ( if available ) will be a good discount on any NECorridor Amtrak service.
In case you are a AAA member you will be able to get a 10% discount on regular fares. Many times the promotions such as the 25% discount mentioned above are not applicable on NEC service.
Also, if you have enough advance time for your travel plans, you may be able to burn orphan/extra CO miles and get a 2500 mile unreserved Amtrak ticket or 5000 reserved Amtrak ticket.
I would read the post on "1 QTR 2003 discount codes". Appears 25% discount (H259) may be available. You have to wait until Jan 7 to purchase though.
