Yesterday morning I woke up feeling a little nauseous. In the early afternoon I started having diarrhea but I took Imodium and that subsided. Later that afternoon I got my period. Then later that night I got diarrhea again but I also felt like I was going to throw up so I took Pepto Bismol and went to bed. I woke up at 5am and had diarrhea really bad and was throwing up at the same time. This lasted about an hour. Then I went to sleep till 9am and then it happened again. That was the routine till about 1pm. At around 2 I ate crackers and sprite but that came up and out. And I had some chicken broth around 7pm and that came up too. I had some more Imodium. Now its 11pm and I'm still sick. Coxsackie Virus Infection Types, Causes, Symptoms and Treatment on :: about Coxsackie virus treatment, infection during pregnancy, symptoms, causes and types (A, B). I was just wondering if this could be TSS, but the symptons started several hours before I got my period? Or is it some virus? What should I do?
I'm home alone with no car. So I can't go get Gatorade or Pedialite. What should I do?
I doubt you have TSS. See below but it is charactized by high fever which you didnt mention and it is real sudden. Your symptoms seem to have come on slowly. You probably have some virus and will have to ride it out. Keep hydrated ... lots of water will be fine. Years ago no one had Gatorade etc. Just drink water and when you feel you can try food again, try something bland like toast w/ little or no butter.
Good luck!
Symptoms of TSS occur suddenly. Because it's an illness that is caused by a toxin, many of the body's organ systems are affected. The signs and symptoms of TSS include:
high fever (greater than 102° Fahrenheit [38.8° Celsius])
rapid drop in blood pressure (with lightheadedness or fainting)
sunburn-like rash on the entire body
vomiting and diarrhea
severe muscle aches or weakness
bright red coloring of the eyes, throat, and vagina
headache, confusion, disorientation, or seizures
kidney and other organ failure
The average time before symptoms appear for TSS is 2 to 3 days after an infection with Staphylococcus or Streptococcus, although this can vary depending on the cause of the infection.
keep drinking plenty of fluids and don't try to stop the puking or diarrhea just let it all come out. this is some sort of virus so just let it pass it wont kill you but remember just keep eating and drinking or else you will become dehydrated and thats when it can get dangerous
Yes it's a virus or either food poison. I think you properly need to see a GP doctor to ask for a injection. This will properly help to relieve you vomitting and diarrhea. Take porridge or light meal. Do not take spicy food, fried food or oily food and fruit for this period.
