I've read that the risk of not taking vaccinations poses a greater risk than taking them. The mercury ingredient that was supposed to be a suspect has supposedly been eliminated in some states, I believe. However, if I had it to do all over, I would not allow my child to have several vaccinations on the same day.

A new study out shows no connection whatsoever. Is it entirely possible to tell? No. There would have to be lifelong tests done, followed over a period of time, etc etc. But, for now, it seems that it was just a mistake that the two were linked.
Besides, I agree totally with what people are saying. Not giving a child a vaccination is almost guaranteed to cause problems- you can't even go to college without a meningitis vaccination, or leave the country without others. Children are susceptible to flu, chicken pox, all sorts of stuff. Even if it were true, which most studies now say it's NOT, the chances of getting autism are so obscure and the chances of getting a preventable disease are quite enormous in comparison.
I'm currently completing my psychology degree, and I'm looking right now at my textbook (human heredity, michael cummings, eighth edition) and there is a section on Autism Spectrum susceptibility genes. There are so many factors involved, to blame vaccinations is actually pretty irresponsible.
