No, honestly the army isn't that bad, the only thing is being away from your family. with the deployments and everything, they Really Suck a** but the rest is good, you can't be laid off you always have the necessities, ((food clothes place to live etc etc)) but I Hate seeing my man Go for up to 18 months at a time, but if you can handle that the rest is easy breezy And they provide you with everything you need, the Army is Great, except they take my man,
Not according to my nephew who has been in it for 4 years already. He loves it and is proud to be serving our country.
The Army has a 117% re-enlistment rate as of FY 08 for one. That alone should tell you that it's Soldiers are pretty content for the most part apparently.
It depends. If you want a job where you sit on your butt in the A/C all day, join the Air Force. But if you are looking to be challenged and pushed to be your best, the Army is a good way to go. For all of the crap that people may say, our Army is truly great. Sure, it's not for everyone. But that's why we enlist for certain periods of time. If you go 3 or 4 years and decide you don't like it, you can get out, and you'll have college money, job skills and experience unlike many other people your age. Military service is something that sets you apart from everyone else in the job market. It shows you have commitment and can be trusted, that you can take orders and lead. The Army bad? I guess its bad if you hate the following: free education; leadership skills, a job, serving your country, travel, keeping yourself physically fit, need I go on?. Well, it couldn't be all that bad. There are about 538,000 in it right now. Can you imagine trying to feed that many people? Makes you wonder, doesn't it.
The Army is what you make of it. I know people who hate it and know people who love it. I go back and forth have my bad days and my good days. But I would never change my service it has done to much for me in the long run. I would never be qualified for my job without it, wouldn't get a college education, have a savings account from my time in iraq, and wouldn't be able to think of my retirement not just my regular job but my military services as well.
No. The ones that think so are s***bags who couldn't hack it or people who have never served.
Yes- for the Undisciplined, the Whiners, the Slackers, the Needy, the ones with No Common Sense and the Immature...it's terrible for them.
for the Strong minded, the Disciplined, the Hard Working, the ones Willing to Roll up Sleeves and get to Work, the ones that can work as an individual for the good of the Team and work as a team for the good of the individual, the Thinkers and the Doers...ITS GREAT!!!
