I am 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant and having a normal pregnancy with no complications..which I am very thankful for. However, in the past two or three days I have been having a dull constant headache, a lot of pelvic pressure, very heavy discharge, strong braxton hicks contrations, and flu like symptoms. I know that at this stage in pregnancy that feeling like this is pretty typical and to be expected, but is there any hope that maybe these symptoms are a sign that labor is near?

From the sound of things, labor may be in the near future for you. Since you said that you are having a constant headache, you may want to contact your provider. Sometimes a constant headache can be associated w/ high blood pressure, which can be associated w/ preeclampsia which some women develop prior to delivery. It would be good to get it checked out. Also since you are experiencing a change in discharge, you may also want to make your provider aware of this. Have you lost your mucus plug yet or had bloody show? Increased pelvic pressure is another sign you want to let your provider know about it...especially if you would describe it as the feeling that the baby is going to come out.
Braxton-hicks contractions definitely increase in both frequency and strength as you near the end of pregnancy. They may be ripening your cervix and causing it to soften which is preparing it to dilate and efface.
No one can tell you for sure when you are going to go into labor, but from what you described, it sure sounds like it is in the near future.

Im 40 weeks in 3 days and I have had those same symptoms for about 2 weeks myself and nothing has happened. This waiting thing can really get to you. You never know. This could be our bodies telling us to get ready. If it is signs of labor coming don't think that just cuz Im almost at 40 weeks means that you will be too. Its different with everyone. well im exactly the same as u 38 weeks and 3 and i have been goin thru the same exact things as u if labor doesnt come this week im gettin my c section this coming mon.thank god its sceduled because i had one with my last so if not no time this week for me it will def.be mon thank god jus b patient and wait it out itll come soon
