Hello,
I would be glad to hear of any personal experiences.
Is a vasectomy painful straight after and during the recovery process? If it is painful, which I can imagine would be at least a little, what is it compared to?
I've heard some say that it's less painful than a tattoo and a tooth pulled (both of which I have had).
Many thanks for any experiences.
Pain - none during the surgery (other than the needle prick for the local anesthesia).
Post surgery - bruising in the groin - use ice - stay off your feet for two days. Good to go.
You'll be shooting blanks in 30 days (the system has to empty out).
My husband still complains of pain once in awhile and it has been nearly three years! I think most people don't have much pain for more than a day. It was hard for me to be sympathetic to his pain after third degree lacerations and 3 hours of pushing with my first child. I was not normal again until after the birth of my second!
It is a surgery, and like any other surgery, some people hurt and others don't. I think men are touchy because they remember getting hit in the testicles when they were kids playing on the playground. I can assure you that it does not hurt like that, unless he does not follow directions. Testimonial Detail:: It was significantly more painful than a pap smear, but very brief and endurable. of the failure rate of traditional tubals and the recovery time, pain and risks. http://www.essure.com/EssurePermanentBirthControlbyConceptus/DiscimonialID/13/Default.aspxHOME |
I have almost no tolerance to pain. But I made it. Whoever said it is less painful that a tattoo is SPOT ON.
If the man follows directions, then the vasectomy is "a piece of cake". If he thinks he is macho, and goes out to unload groceries from the car, mows the lawn, or whatever, then he will hurt, there is no doubt about that.
I only ever took aspirin for the pain. I had mine done on a Friday, then was back to work on Monday. After a week, I hit the ground running, and never looked back.
To be honest the only part that hurt was when they applied the pain-killer. That hurt like hell for about a half second.
Vasectomies are not painful, my husband is a BIG baby (cries when i pop a pimple on his back!) and he did not complain so I am pretty sure it's no big deal, He did complain about the doctor trying to stretch the skin around his testicles prior to the procedure but says that he felt nothing after the anesthesia (he was awake) as to recovery time? The man was back to normal the next day and he actually made me have sex with him the same day to make sure everything worked.
I don't think it's too bad. My ex husband had one on a Friday & returned to work on Monday.
My husband had one 6 years ago--it was about 15 minutes to do it ,he had 2 stitches and walked funny for about3 days-he took the rest of the week off and went back the following week. He said the thought of it was worse than it really was.He took Motrin or Tylenol if he was uncomfortable--I don't think he ever took it.
I had a vasectomy when I was 25 and single. I have long since gotten married and am now 69, and for all the time in between, I've felt freedom and security beyond that which you can imagine. The vasectomy at that time was illegal, so I had to sneak in the doctor's back door and have the operation done without a pain killer, yet I felt extremely little pain-- much less than a flu shot. I went bowling that night., but I would not recommend that so soon.
When you have it done, you will feel extreme elation and a good feeling in the pit of your stomach, kinda like winning a million dollars in the lottery and getting laid by the woman of your dreams, all in the same day. Once word gets around about your operation, suddenly women who once ignored you will become very friendly. I wonder why?
I think it all depends on the person. I have talked to some guys that said it was nothing and they were back to work the following day, then there are the ones that milk it and take a week off work and compain about how horrible it was.
The operation itself is not painful. When the anesthetic wears off there may be some discomfort, but they should give you something for that for 24 hours or so.
The painful part is not the operation itself. Here's what it is: The first few times you orgasm after the operation, it will hurt. Basically what you would have ejaculated instead gets trapped in the tubing that has been cut.
After a week or two your body has built up antibodies that help you get rid of this material so the discomfort, if there's any, passes quickly.
I had mine almost 20 years ago and I still notice that if I don't orgasm for several days, then have a strong one, there can be a brief discomfort.
I have a few questions about tattoos?
Can too much water be bad for your health?
