As an international M fare is upgradable at the time of booking, would one be able to upgrade the YVR/YYZ at the time of booking as well, because although it is part of an international trip, it's not a connection, I know that I would have to use seperate SWU's, just wondering about when one could upgrade.

If not a connection, domestic is domestic. For instance, an H class domestic leg on an international trip is not upgradeable.

Note however that if one stops for less than 24 hours on an international itinerary, it still *is* a connection. In which case, only one cert is required, and it's upgradeable even if in H.
