ok now we get to another fun part. It is time for the hall of captains. Which players have led their countries better than anyone else. here's my picks:
England: Peter May, led England during one of it's more succesful periods.
Australia: Donald Bradman, tough choice, but the team was called the Invincibles
India: Sunil Gavaskar, alid the ground work for future generations Tennis Server - Wild Cards - The 2007 International Tennis Hall Of :: The 2007 International Tennis Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place in Newport, Cricket Club in Boston, showed him how to shoot the game of tennis. http://www.tennisserver.com/wildcards/wildcards_07_11.htmlHOME |
Pakistan: Imran Khan, gave pakistan a world cup
Sri Lanka: Arjuna Ranatunga, led a very sucessful Sri Lanka and set the groundwork for their one day triumphs
New Zealand: Martin Crowe, led New Zealand when it was a tough trip playing them there.
West Indies: Viv Richards, the last great Windies Skipper
Zimbabwe: Andy Flower, tere have been no test class players before or since.
Bangladesh: any nominations
Better exclude Bangladesh from the list.
Again I will nominate Habibul Bashar, He was the captain when Bangladesh won their only test so far (v/s Zimbabwe). And he captained Bangladesh to 29 wins in ODIs. When I say that the next name in the list is of Ashraful with 5 wins, you know why he should be selected.
i think M. rafique for Bangla.. only player to take 100 wickets in both format
stephen waugh lead australia in one off the best eras i oz cricket and continued to do so at an age when most had retired.
Your list is good. I'd pick Clive Lloyd over Viv Ricards because he oversaw their rise to become the dominant cricket team of the seventies and eighties. He also led the West Indies to a eleven match winning streak in tests.
Bangladesh would have to be Habibul Bashar since he's their only successful captain. He's led them to a test win over Zimbabwe and ODI wins over Australia, India, South Africa and Sri Lanka.
For New Zealand, i'd pick Geoff Howarth as the best captain. We started winning when he became captain. We started slipping when Jeremy Coney replaced him and had well and truly collapsed by the time Martin Crowe became captain. Crowe was a good one-day captain though.
It's a very agreeable list.
India beat Australia by in second test bmatch oct 21?
Should I bowl slow left arm or slow left arm chinaman?
