Image of God is metaphorical in that Humans are Triune beings consisting of Body, Spirit, and Soul...... humans have souls.
This also helps us to understand the Holy Trinity being 3 persons making up the 1 true God. We too are made up of 3 things but we are only 1 person. And both are examples of the saying... "where one is you will also find the other two."

The group, which refers to itself as the 21st Century Science Coalition, opposes the teaching of scientific evidence that shows the weakness of prevailing evolutionary theory. They claim that teaching such scientific evidence would pave the way to the eventual teaching of religious ideas such as creationism.
Casey Luskin with the Discovery Institute says despite the group's name, they are in fact clinging to outdated 19th century science.
"What [the group is] trying to imply, and what it wants to have taught in the classroom, is that evolution is an uncontroversial fact that is absolutely, 100 percent proven to be true and that there are no scientists who dissent from it," Luskin explains. "And they want students to basically not learn about any views that might have scientific dissent from modern neo-Darwinian theory."
There is plenty of scientific evidence, according to Luskin, that questions leading evolutionary theory. He adds that one of the ways that Darwinists try to insulate their theories from criticisms is to relabel any criticisms as religious attack.
"But that is absolutely a false relabeling. In fact, there are over 700 scientists who dissent from neo-Darwinian evolution and have signed a statement of dissent that's on a list that can be found at DissentFromDarwin.org," Luskin points out. "And there are a large number of peer-reviewed, scientific articles that have come out in the last 10, 20, 30 years that challenge various key aspects of neo-Darwinian theory."

No. God is a completely different life form from us. We are in His image as far as His qualities are concerned. The Bible tells us He is Love, Justice, Wisdom and Power in perfect amounts. We are like Him in that we all have those same qualities, though in lesser and at times ackward degrees. Which gives us Ghandi and Hitler, mother Teresa and Poll Pot.

Steve, God and Man's likeness refers to the dual nature of God and Man. God is Spirit. God also took on Flesh in the Person of Jesus Christ, thus He is Spirit and He is Flesh. We were Created with both a spirit and a physical body.

No. This has been misinterpreted. Mankind was made (with)in God's image. God is all around us. We are inside God's spirit and God's spirit/soul is within us. It is a great mystery but very uplifting.

I suspect that phrase meant more spiritually than physically. Since God the Father is spirit and not flesh, we think of Him as formless.
To be made in His image means that we are born with the basic inclination toward goodness and love, even if it gets warped and smothered by false teachings and cruelty while we're growing up.
Ive always wondered about that too, and if there is a man and a woman then is god both man and woman? or is there a god and a goddess like the wiccan believe? or is the pagan?
Personally, I believe it is not a physical image, as we see that God does not have a physical body, but we are created in God's image in a relational sense.
Being created in God's image can simply mean that we are created the way that God wanted to create us. It doesn't have to do with anything that God looks like.
