I was contacted for a copywriter job for a company called Qwest Marketing in Metrowest. Anyone have any experience with this company? What should I expect for the interview? Tips would be appreciated.
Oh yeah, I interviewed there for a graphic design position. It's one of the best interviews I've ever had in my life! They are highly organized so they know when you're coming and have all of the stuff ready. They don't concentrate on silly interview questions, but instead just get down to the nitty gritty about your experience. They called me back the afternoon after my first interview so there was no agonizing wait. And the second interview was just as smooth as the first. One day later they offered me the job -- that's the quickest turn-a-round from interview to offer I've ever experienced. And so far it's a great place to work at!
It's not your typical interview, which is the best thing about it. They mostly give you tests. A writing test, an editing test, and base most of their decision off of that. You don't have to answer those stupid interview questions like, "describe a time when you didn't punch your boss in the face." If you got the goods, then bring it. The only reason I didn't take the job was because I was offered a copyediting job at a newspaper, and I really wanted to get into journalism so I took that. If not for that, I would have jumped at this job. Qwest cutting jobs - Portland Business Journal::: Qwests 14-state market -- or roughly 2 percent of the Sales & Marketing.
