There's not much you CAN do to get ready. Just be sure to be at the line when the gun fires.

Walk the course or know the course so you know when you need to speed up or slow down accordingly to the terrain.
Once the race start's everything's a blur.
You see everyone racing forward and you find yourself with you own legs moving too
You know that you can't stop then since that would be embarrassing so you keep on running
just breathe deep and concenetrate on your breathing
When doing the workouts
Do your best! Talk to the coach in how to improve your running. Make sure you're doing them correctly
like don't go 90% on long runs and 60% on sprints
Take a day off! Then during that day eat some pastas and stretch as good as you can numerous times during the day your off. Then take 5 hour energy before the race like 5 minutes. If you do these things it is almost sure to pay off. The best day to take off would be 2 days before the meet. Then take the next day light. Then, you should be able to do your part.
