The blower resistor pack gets hot so it is placed on the blower motor body where the cold incoming air blows over it and keeps it cool.Maybe they should mount them on a yahoo answers web site because the bulls*it that some people spout on hear would keep them well below fuc*ing zero
The blower resister is most likely located behind the glove compartment in the evaporator case. By removing the glove box, this resistor is normally easily visible and accessible. After you remove it, the damage is usually very obvious as a broken resistor coil. Although sometime the damage is not visible, one circuit will have an in line resistor. To test this circuit you will need an ohm-meter to test continuity in the circuit. Place one lead on the connector that leads into the blower motor resistor and one on the connector that leads to the blower motor. You should get a fairly high ohm reading if the circuit is good and a OL reading which means the circuit has not continuity or a break internally, (a bad in line resistor)
