I Love Libraries - News, Issues, Legislation, Careers & Advocacy :: I Love Libraries is a site dedicated to Library Advocacy. http://www.ilovelibraries.org/HOME | I've been hearing and reading things about Obama's safety if he becomes president. One thing I'm hearing quite a bit is that the racist democrats are not going to vote for him only because of his race. (Crazy, I know) but I'm also hearing that he is going to have 3x more security than any other president in history because of his race and the fear of violence against him because he's black. I live near an area where white supremacists are very well known and very vocal on their dislike toward Obama. I'm not voting for Obama, but I certainly don't want to see anyone attempt to do him harm because of his race.
I was wondering if you've heard these things too and what your thoughts are on them.
Things happen for a reason and having Obama win the primary and mayhaps win the election also is for a reason. Fortunately, he isn't spooked by all this and continuing with his campaign.
Should he become assassinated, again, it will be for a reason, be it racism, that will give America an end product that it will not know how to handle, and that is what both parties are well aware of, for it will be a case of America unraveling many good things that it stood for and the world will pass judgment on its power and the inability to take care of its own back yard.
Yes, its very scary!
Yea its pretty scary. He has such a beautiful family, I would be so upset if his girls had to live with out a father trying to work for history making, and he really does want to help the country. It is not all about "fame" and "fortune" or history books. He is a candidate for a good reason.
Yeah.. I am half expecting him to be assassinated.
If someone wants to take him out they can do it. What's even more scary is that IF Obama is president when it happens, Biden steps into his spot. NOW THAT'S SCARY!!
Scared is not the word I would use, but I am concerned for all of us. Whether he wins or not, Obama has set the stage for greater racial tension that is quite likely to turn into a full blown race war.
I am feeling a growing surge of angry militant anti-white sentiment from blacks who apparently can't wait until a "brother" gets in charge. The attitude, the looks, the whispers behind backs in the supermarkets, retail outlets, and parking lots, are impossible to mistake or miss.
It's going to get ugly.
What about the people that are voting for him just because of his race?
about 50% of his voters.
I'm very sad that people can't just get along and accept each other for who we are. Just because someone is different than you is not a valid reason to hate them.
One of things my black friends and I share is that SOME(I didnt say all) of us feel casting a ballot for him is sealing his death sentence. More voter intimidation. I live in a very nice area in Westchester County but this is where a cross was burned this spring by some teenagers. Racists are that crazy and they still try to intimidate and to invoke violence.
A couple of angry racists won't get anywhere near him, trust me. These people don't have the power or the means. I am sure that Obama and his supporters know what to do. I've definitely thought about his safety but don't give the maniac racists too much credit.
i too heard this sort of things here in LA, cause even though it's 2008 there are a lot of people that think like 1808
If you're not voting for him because you like McCain, I understand. If you're not voting for him because you live in a racist community and are afraid, that's another story. I wish him luck in his presidency, and I hope he gets Secret Service protection X2! He has great vision for this country and "the powers that be" can't stand it. OBAMA 2008!
I live in the south and I'm hearing a lot of people saying the same thing. I
its sad actually that some ppl until now think in this closed minded way
dont worry, he is going to be fine and to hell with all the racists
