Not sure if this is possible with Word. I would like to create a resume in two different layouts and be able to switch between the two by clicking a link embedded within the document. An example would be a web page written in Spanish and, by clicking a link, switch to the English translation. Or, if this was Excel, have a worksheet in one format and by clicking a link, hide the first sheet and unhide and display a second worksheet with the same data in a different layout. The key is that in the Excel example, a user is dealing with one file and I would like to do the same with Word. Is this possible?
Create english. Select it. Insert-->Autotext, New. Give it the name myeng. Delete the text.
Create spanish. Select it. Insert-->Autotext, New. Give it the name myspan. Delete the text.
Save this file as a document TEMPLATE.
Copy the autotext entries you created from normal.dot to this template. (See: PJ Software Developer: Visual Studio 2008 - Switch between flow :: Feb 8, 2008 Back in 2003 and 2005 there was a property on the page (or something similar) that you could just set to switch between flow layout and http://pjsoftwaredeveloper.blogspot.com/2008/02/visual-studio-2008-switch-between-flow.htmlHOME |

Record a macro (store it in THIS template) of yourself typing "myeng" (without the quotes) and then the F3 key. Call the macro myeng. Stop recording. Record a macro of yourself typing "myspan" and then the F3 key; call it myspan; stop recording.
View-->Toolbars-->Control toolbox. Create two command buttons, one called spanish and one called english. Double-click the english one. Take the "guts" (all but first and last line) of the myeng macro and paste it in between the first and last line that were created when you double-clicked the english button. Do similar for the spanish.
That was a damn mouthful. LOL
Sorry...to reiterate. There is NO way you could perform this in a DOC file.
