I got my belly button pierced back in July. Then a month ago i had it stretched from a 16g to a 14g. Dont ask me why the retard who did it pierced it with a 16g cuz i dunno. Anyways.. i know its not fully healed yet cuz it takes about 6 months to a year to heal but it keeps going to thr right side. I straighten it out and it goes back to the right. It was fine when i first got it pierced. Then when i went back to get it stretched afterwards, it started to get really sore and red and swollen and it was always crooked and i couldnt straighten it out cuz it was so swollen. It's no longer swollen now and the redness and soreness has gone away. But its still crooked. How can i fix this without having to go back and get it redone? I already tried taping it to the other side. Then when i take the bandage and tape off it goes to the other side. So please help. Thanks. be very careful, mine started out crooked, i pulled it back and forth so much that in the end it migrated out of my skin and i now have a nice scar for my troubles! x
you can't once it is to one side or the other and its not in the middle cause the guy probably pierced it crooked and its going to heal crooked and less you let it close up and wait 6 months for the scar tissue to heel and then get it done somewhere else where they can pierce it straight! .. you can't fix it once its crooked you either got to take it out or live with a crooked navel ring! Unfortunately, you can't. I got mine done in August and it started going to the right side last month. I ended up taking it out. It looked stupid and it wasn't pierced correctly.
To be honest, I think it's too late to get it straightened out.. You will likely have to take it out, let it heal, and then get it re-pierced.
I had the same thing happen with a piercing that was pierced the slightest bit to the left, the only to fix it (consulted a piercist) was to get it re-pierced.
Sorry hun... And good luck.
P.S. Never go back to that shop again, they sound like a bunch of idiots!!
It's pretty much set the way it is. If you really want to go to the trouble of "straightening" it out, you're gonna have to take it out, let it close (not sure if you'd have to close all the way or go back down to a 16g), and repierce down the road.
Ask a professional in your town...obviously not the same person)
EDIT also, everyone's body is different. A good piercer would have showed you what it might have looked like. My piercer did this with me and informed me the way my belly button is shaped, it would lean slightly to the left if she did it centered. Then she showed me if she pierced it at a slight angle then the jewelry would appear to lay straight. So a GOOD piercer would be well informed about this kind of stuff. ... ... so in the end, live with it. Or close up your piercing, wait for it to heal, and then get it repierced.
