Last year I was in Algebra, and there are many many Algebra-help sites out there. Plus, I had a helpful textbook.
This year, I'm in Pre-Cal. It's so much harder. My new teacher is just as bad as last year's, I have yet to find a good Pre-Calculus help site (Purplemath.com, my old favorite, only focuses on Algebra), AND I have no textbook.
Thus I am failing the class.
Any advice on what I should do? Don't bother saying "talk with your teacher or counselor" And obviously i can not drop the class.
And if you do not plan on answering my question, do not bother clicking the blue button.
How about tutoring?
I know this is the last thing u want to know, but try to talk to your teacher about it.
(i figured you would turn your head away)
so u can see all the people that used to have this teacher, and try to spend more time with them and tell them to explain u things that you dont understand the teacher explaining.
They dont have to be smart,as long as they know how to solve the problem its okay Clipart Guide - Bad Teacher Clipart, Clip Art Illustrations :: Currently displaying images 1-1 of "bad teacher clipart" bad teacher clipart, illustrations, graphics and clip art pictures http://www.clipartguide.com/_search_terms/bad_teacher.htmlHOME |
A teacher can be just as bad as his or her students. Your teacher can't teach you everything that they think you don't need, meaning, IF YOU DON'T ASK, YOUR TEACHER WOULDN'T KNOW YOU NEED HELP. Sorry to say, but if you continue this untrusting behavior toward your teacher, you can partially blame yourself with the problem. My mom is a teacher, and i tell you, she's a strict one. But my mom will always tell me, only those students who know how to ask can get the right asnswers. Its better to appear dumb by asking questions and learn from the answer than be dumb by not asking at all. A teacher asks how to deal with students who don't care :: A teacher asks how to deal with students who don't care .. There is no excuse for bad parenting but some just don't know how to parent. http://itsyourtimes.com/?q=node/4318HOME |
Are there any programs out that are free or affordable to help? I wouldn't know, but maybe you can look around?
You can get cheap summer workbooks that are supposed to help you remember what you learned but you can use that as a guide, because they also have answers, examples, and hints, usually. Also, you can't find any websites that just give examples of problems, rules, and how to do them? After you learn the rules, maybe you can purchase cheap calculus workbooks for more problems.
Do you have anyone in your family that can help you?
Re: Bad teacher:: decided to deal with the situation. Can you find someone who took the class last year under the same teacher and get their assistance. Also, talk to your favorite teacher, whether it is art or english or whatever. THEY may be able to tell you who (another student or teacher) who can help.
There is always the geek with the thick glasses and pocket protector, the can be laods of help......
My math teacher gives us the answers on the board, makes us copy them down without going over what they mean. then tests us on it, does not review because we already learned it, and then yells.
im stuck, i asked the counseler
You went from Algebra to Pre-Calc! What about Algebra 2! Ok...go to tutor.com they have live tutors like a chat site with a board to do your problems on and they will explain...seriously it is tutor.com...but you have to pay after your free trial...
Get a tutor.
get a tutor.
I think:
http://www.mathforum.org/library/topics/...
would help you, or
http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/L...
Hope that would help you... good luck with your grade!
ask to switch teachers or get a smart friend to tutor you after school.
I think your stuck with this problem for the year. It will suck and she will be a ***** but this will teach you how to deal with these situations. They don't end. As you get older they become more complex.
So the teacher isn't really teaching you much or helping? Most areas around a college have really good textbooks in them or try a local library. I hope this helps! if not just email me through my profile.
Get a notebook. Take super good notes. Every night do your homework, and call your friends for help.
Review your notes!
Ask your teacher every day for help.
Ask your school's guidance counselor what you should do.
Hope that helped.
Oh, and I also hate math. This is how I passed Algebra 1 & 2
get a tutor
try the "dummie" series. See if they have "pre-cal for dummies" hopefully that will help. otherwise, checkout the Dr. Math website, where you can check their databases for similar examples with the ones you're struggling with, or ask your own questions, if it hasn't been answered yet. They are very helpful, and will walk you through the understanding process, so you'll be able to get it.
Get a tutor.
although "seeing a councilor or teacher" is a good idea
another is to talk to your parents or siblings... get a tutor
once you finish home work, ask someone to check it...
The ones you had trouble on ask what you did wrong
I'm in a similar situation this year, with my precalculus teacher that cannot teach. Do the homework and try to teach yourself the material from the book, if that doesn't help, you can always see another teacher for help.
I agree with the two answers, get a tutor. I have one and it works out so much better/
well, try out some new websites, and find out why you don't have a textbook and definetly get a tutor huney, for the love of God
I am failing math to,s work hard and pray that something will work out
