What qualifications do I need? I am currently a secretary, I am 46 and I am thinking of a complete career change. Am I too old?
Like has been mentioned no one is ever to old. Dental hygeine school can range from a two year program to a 4 year program. It depends on the school. The four programs grant a bachlors degree. In my state the dental board does not care if you went to a two year program or a 4 year program. You may ask then why do people bother with the four year program, the answer is the number of schools that offer the program is very limited, many have wait list so if you only get into a 4 year program, and you want to be a hygenist, then you will most likely attended the 4 year school.

As for requirements you need to look at the schools requirements each school is slightly different. some may wnat you to have a calculus class ( I have no idea why) and some do not. Dental procedures, costs, and insurance::

Mar 14, 2006 How do you become a dental hygenist? You take virtually the same prereqs to the US I became an RN here as well, trhough a long process.
