Still not a bd deal as long as the sensor is clean. They generally keep a lens on demo, so that should help. 2k shots, blah... You can fire that off in a good week. I have my 40D for 2 1/2 months and already have 11K actuations.

Yeah, I did the same thing when I traded in my XT and payed $300 for a barely used 20D at a mom and pop shop........ except no one responded to that thread..............

It was an open box. That means it was sold, brought back into the store becuase the client was not happy for wahtever reason, returned it to the store. They then refunded the client, accepted the box, functionality possibly verified, repackaged and resold as an open box.
I've seen open box laptops sold to clients from Future Shop - Best Buy with client info and even good amounts of porno left on them. They were not very thorough at the time, I suppose.
that has no bearing on if the camera is good or bad or anything, its just the way they work sometimes.
It was actually their demo model. It is in perfect condition, like new. Yeah, it has 2k actuations on it already, but so what?
