Lake Louise Mountain closes late April
Yes, you can ski while you are here. You may not find snow in the Banff townsite, but you will find it on the mountains.
Unless you plan on going to the Olympic Plaza, there is no skiing here in Calgary, you have to go to the mountains. The snow might not be great, but there is still usually some snow.
You can go skiing in the mountains up until the May long weekend (at Sunshine), you don't even have to wear a snow jacket sometimes because it's so nice out!! :D but you have to remember to wear sunscreen because the light will reflect off the snow and give you a bad sunburn
It really depends on the year, it will sometimes snow in April in Calgary but not usually, and definitely not for the whole month... but it still snows in the mountains occasionally. Actually, the only month that I have never seen it snow was July... wow
Chances are that there's still going to be snow on mountains for skiing, and theres a chance that it will snow in april.
Calgary is actually in the foothills and there isn't great skiing there - but just a few miles away you are into some wonderful skiing. And in April, the spring skiing is magnificent. But the snow won't fall in Calgary - just up in the mountains.
Yup! Sometimes
I remember one (not normal mind you) snow fall the first week in June - in the 70's or 80 - Peter Lougheed was the Premier at the time.
