Do you think these might be a tad to challenging for me?
Also, is there anything you might suggest?
For Whom The Bell Tolls - Ernest Hemingway
And for sh*ts and giggles....The Grapes Of Wrath.
And after reading the Grapes..they have to watch the movie...this will give them thought about how people struggled to survive without govt and self preservation.
A tad challenging? At least.... you'd probably like Hitchhiker's Guide though. Um, Dorian Gray you might want to read, but definitely read it later in life also. You understand it so much better when you're older... Ask Moxie: Book Review: Your Three-Year-Old: Friend or Enemy?:: I have a 9 month old, super challenging at the best of times little boy. . I love those books. I found them when my oldest, now almost 14, was small, http://www.askmoxie.org/2007/10/book-review-you.htmlHOME |
I'd suggest Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and The Assassination Bureau Ltd., by Jack London.
I like your reading list! Report Abuse
Some of those sound a bit much for 14.
This one is understandable and significant and goes about as deep as any you mentioned... about a young man about your age who challenges the great theologians... and it's a free read. "Gospel Enigma." Find it here.
Wow, yes most of these would be very challenging for the average 14 year old. But if you have good reading and comprehension skills, then go for it! I always read the books I felt like reading and that interested me; I didn't worry about whether they were written for adults or teenagers.
You won't have any trouble with "Guide to the Galaxy", "Vampire Chronicles" or "Dorian Gray" - they're pretty easy reading.
A book I really liked when I was 14 was "Cold Comfort Farm" by Stella Gibbons; darkly funny. I also liked Spike Milligan's war memoirs (crazy!!) and Gerald Durrell's books about wildlife (I like animals).
Read what YOU want to read, in the areas that interest you the most.
Their all grand and fantastic. I wouldn't change a thing about it. But i would like to add.
Define Normal- it's simple but you know it's good
Touching Spirit Bear-another stupid short one but still it's good
Twilight-vampire obsessionest like me agree it's the best
PEEPS- i can't remeber what it stands for but it's about vampires
and
anything that has Tamora Pierces name on it is amazingly thrilling even though their really short and simple
u should just pick the challengin ones. pick the ones that matter.
