Can cats swim - I hope so?

Welcome to:hznm.com

  • I accidentally kicked a cat into a canal from a bridge, it was struggling to swim, I didn't check to see if it made it to the other side. Can some reassure me that cats can swim?

  • Ofcourse they can swim......!

  • Most cats are able to swim, but the real question is how did you manage to kick a cat into a canal?

Secondly, why didn't you do something about it? o_0

  • Accidentally kicked?Maybe you should join it.

  • that is a very cruel thing to do, what goes around come around, i hope you get what you deserve

  • they do dont worry

  • NO THEY CANT YOUR BAD I AM GOING TO PUT YOU IN TO RSPCA FOR HURTING AN ANIMAL

  • You are sick whether you really did this terrible thing or just imagined it in your horrible head you need psychiatric help immediately. I don't know why people get off on abusing or talking about abusing cats...do you think it's clever or macho? I hope some big ugly yobbo kicks you off a bridge and you drown...slowly!

  • Yes, they can swim. They hate it though.

Unless there is a way (close to where it fell in) that the cat can climb out of the canal, then it will have drowned. They can only swim for a limited period until they get exhausted.

If YOU are responsible for the cat getting into the water, why didn't YOU fish it out?

  • Your question is highly disturbing and upsetting, and from what I have read in other answers, to just about everyone who took the time to answer you.

I cannot get my head wrapped around the concept of "accidental" kicking a cat, especially off a bridge. Sounds to me like you were angry about something and took it out on the cat, and feel remorse about your action, and your guilt and remorse are appropriate, by the way.

One should never take out anger on any living thing. Kick a rock, or a soda can, but never an animal, or human.

It is good that you feel guilty, and realize that you did something very wrong.

All of us who answered your question, I am sure, are all praying that the cat did survive your thoughtless act.

Cats can instinctively swim, but the fall from the bridge may have injured him and he may not have survived the fall.

  • If this is true, I hope you have it on your conscience for the rest of your life. You won't know and ovbviously don't really care if the cat survived or not, but what goes around comes around is very true.

  • i dont think they can. and oh my god atleast u should of went and checked or got it out.

  • why'd ya do it? what would ya do if it couldn't swim??

  • Why the hell would you kick a cat into a canal? Dumbass. Someone needs to kick you off a bridge.

  • yo remember what goes around come around u sellfish basta,rd. i hope some1 kicks ur mum into that cannal

  • YES!!!! THEY CAN!!!!!! =]
i'm sure you didn't "accidentally" kill the cat.
    ♥♫♣

  • this has to be a joke

  • you need kicking in a canal

  • Since you said it was struggling to swim, perhaps the poor cat doesn't know how to swim. =(

  • Yes they can.

  • That's a bit mean! Most animals can swim though!

  • First of all how can you accidentally kick it into the canal O.O

Big cats such as tigers and lions can but I'm not to sure about house cats :l

  • Cats can swim if they have to, but they are terrified of water.

You can't possibly have 'accidentally' kicked a cat into a canal, because cats are very agile and have great balance, so I would assume this is a malicious question.

  • erm....how do you "accidently" kick a cat off a bridge into a canal??? did you think it was a furry football or something?!?! and some cats can some cats can't. you obviously can't be that bothered if you didn't go and check it was ok afterwards!! and may i ask exactly how it was meant to get out of the water even if it did make it the bank? maybe someone should kick you off a bridge into a canal!

  • yes they can swim all animals can except some apes i think, cats just don't like the water but will swim if they need to

  • You are really awful! how did you ACCIDENTALLY kick the cat! you need kicking into the canal

  • NO they can't swim

    Its dead then

    That god animal

    How didn't you see it?

    Its A cat

I'm a Massive fan of cats (weird yes i know)

And you should of checked it!

    x

  • Well, I for one think you're probably just taking the piss - either that or you're one more sicko who finally had a moment of clarity...what WAS that strange feeling? Guilt?!

For the record, cats can swim. They just don't like to. Nice of you to stick around and check it was OK though....oh hang on, you didn't. Good job.

  • It was either you or that cat - you won!

  • mayb haan
    mayb naa

  • First thing first, dont worry about the cat drowning as there are millions and millions of cats in the world. One cat drowning aint going to make a difference.
Cats can swim, its fun to see them struggle out of water, where they look like wet rats, funny that, looking like rats, cause thats what they are in reality, pests.
    Happy kicking

Its quite easy to accidentally kick a cat. If you are walking along and a damn stupid cat decides that it would be fun to run between your feet and you conect with the cat with your foot (kicking it into a canal is just a bonus)

  • im going to pour 10 gallons of water down your throught and watch you choke and drown in it until you are cold dead
