Its a year end bash with employees and there spouses. It's going to be a formal event in tuxedo and cocktail dinner.
Also we have already used the poker theme last year........any advice will be apreciated!
Hi Lucky Lukes, I gather your looking for a theme for your year end bash. I would look at maybe a roaring 20's or 40's, Myself I would do a Rock and Roll theme. You don't need games and foolishness, it will also help with your food catering as well on the same theme. You want a successful event, where people mingle with a drink, dance, and be alive and full of fun, not stuck up in a stuffy monkey suit. Remember one thing, when you select your music, doesn't have to be all rock and roll, I would ask for a mix of some slow romantic stuff, so I can be close to my girl....

Oh i completely agree with chris.... I think that if everyone is asked to be in their formal attire... then its going to get rather stuffy without some very interesting things going on. Are these employees people who are usually dressed in suits and ties, office attire or the such? If so... doing the opposite of that would be very fun for me. I think a sock-hop would sound fun. I love themed parties, and their are alot of ideas out there... but i think the best thing would be to CHANGE THINGS UP... like I said earlier... if a person is asked to dress nice all the time, let them let loose... and vise versa, if they are in casual attire, dressing nice would be a nice change. Games at company parties annoy people unless they're raffles, and are especially egregious at formal affairs. Assume that the attendees like each other enough to converse and have a dance floor with ballroom appropriate music. If you feel you must do something, have a raffle.
